I saw this Mk1 Escort going past my house and it got me asking: "who ever sees a cool car going past their house and wishes they had it?" Me? If it was slammed on American Racing Torque Thrusts and a Hurst paint scheme, or Astro Supremes and a full Bellflower custom job, I'd have it. More so if it was a pillarless fastback, using a Mk1 Capri roof.

NEVER , except my friend up the block owns a pretty badass Late 60'S Muscle Car (SORRY . DON'T REMEMBER THE MAKE.) . In Chicago , they put all that salt in the roads , so a lot of  people with classic cars seldom take them out. There are a few Car Clubs , tho'.

.....There used to be a grumpy old man car club in my neighborhood. The leader was a great hearse collector (And a poor excuse for a man.), he'd park his old hearses , with "For Sale " signs. My friend bought a white late 60's or early 70's model , and it served him well , lugging gear for his band , for a few years. There was also a hearse - ambulance combination (In case the patient did'nt make it...) parked near my place , and a big , bad DeSoto , black and chartreuse with fins that put JAWS to shame.....Today , it's nearly all ugly new cars and SUVs with no passengers.  I'VE SEEN A FEW VERY COOL OLD CARS , LATELY , BUT , TRIED NOT TO LOOK like I was lustin' after 'em.  In reality , I was'nt. Just appreciating their coolness....

Sad to see cars look dull, no one cares about how to make them look great. I'd love to have an old Caddy hearse, which could have been marketed as a people carrier.

A people carrier , HA HA HA....In the 80's , a friend of mine had a '68 Cadillac hearse. It was so tuff. He and his girlfriend rode around with "Newlydead" and "Just Buried " signs in the window when he first got it.   GEEZ , even the recent Jaguars have no sense of artistic design....So boring , esp. American cars , but , just new cars in general.  I liked the old vision of the future more than what the future  turned out to be !

I saw the Oscar Meyer Weiner wagon go down my street. I'd never seen one. It was easily the size of a double decker bus. I ran after it for a couple of blocks , but it got away.

The other day , I saw a beautiful , tricked out Oldsmobile . Probably very early 60's , not the brontosaurus models I prefer , very sporty looking....I could'nt help saying , out loud "Now, THAT guy's got a small penis."....I'M SURE THAT IS'NT ALWAYS TRUE (Not that I've checked.), BUT , it had "Penis substitute" written all over it.

OH , LORD....Several moths ago, someone parked a beautiful hot rod Ford Model T , maybe 1924 - 25., around the corner. It had the stereotype rear view mirror dice (But they looked REALLY cool.) , some tasteful pinstriping and a handpainted Rat Fink below the windshield... It was painted all black , as T's usually are , and was in pristine condition. I figured the driver must be going to see The Neanderthals and Deke Dickerson , too. But , I did'nt see the car at the show. I never saw it again , period. Got some good pics on my phone , tho'.
