Another friend who just passed was Homer Henderson (nee Phil Bennison), he was best known as a one man band , based in Austin. His act was hilarious and he rocked hard. We did a one man band festival in Chicago. We couldn't get Hasil Adkins , so , I was asked what my second choice would be , I chose Homer Henderson. He killed it. He also played at the Ponderosa Stomp where his ribald humor wasn't appreciated by some of the squares. Bennison also played Bass with Eve Monsee and The Exiles , Teddy and The Tall Tops (With Jim Heath (Reverend Horton Heat) on Guitar.), and Perry Mason and The Defendents , whom I never saw , but loved their name.  less

This is pretty cool. Sounds like a cross between 60's Garage Punk and 70's Pub Rock with a touch of New York Dolls.

    Hello John,

The name is Dale Harger. We were acquaintances way back in Houston. I used to record a lot of concerts and been using the extra-time lockdown time transferring some of my tapes to disk. I have a Neutron Prom demo tape that I copied at your house, or maybe it was at Yure Thrall's house or I now recall you lived just down the block from Yure Thrall....maybe....lots if hazy years between then and now.

Anyway in case you lost track of the Neutron Prom demo tape in the journey I could supply you the digital copy.

    Regards

HE JUST PERFORMED HIS FAREWELL CONCERT ABOUT A MONTH AGO. He looked and sounded better than any man his age had a right to , into his Seventies and early eighties. • Other Hobbies/Interests Note - I know this is too long and too self - righteous, . It will be whittled down, shortly. I like playing my own music, live, and Deejaying when I can. Which is almost never. Have'nt had much luck with bands . Back history, roughly, is as follows - Born in an Elevator (1982.) - Cheezy, Wurlitzer organ - led, Cramps, Dead Kennedys, Psychedelic Furs and Clash covers, with 50's - 60's R'n'R fueled Noo Wavish originals. Part time Metal Guitarist from Sussex, UK, and almost, future Butthole Surfers' future Drummer sitting in with us . I'm not making this stuff up. Neutron Prom - 84 - 85. Solo . Ranting over my own tapes . Attempted guest spot on a Butthole Surfers ' show. Bombed. Elvis From Hell 84 - 86 . Dressed as the green zombie Elvis envisioned by Gary Panter, started out with a more horrific stage show, still singing over tapes. Fronted the group, Graceland, spring - summer, '86, then took up the Guitar, and went solo, again. Unnamed Rockabilly band, Summer, '86. COULD HAVE TORN DALLAS A NEW ASSHOLE, not that they did'nt have plenty, already (Don't get your dander up, we have more than enough here, in Chicago, too ....). 1986 - Present - Performing under my own name, on Vocals and Guitar, with occasional guest players, and one-shot projects, most notably with GPHO member, Psycho * Davy . We've performed together a few times as Sick, Sober and Sorry aka The 13th Floor Elvis Impersonators ( That's what I call us. Psycho *Davie calls us You Know and Who or The Ring Dang Duo. We're both right. ) There's recently posted video on you tube..... Daughter of Frankenstein - 1994. Garage Punk cover band, with a Gories /Demolition Doll Rods set up, two guitars, drums, no bass . Long Gone John heard our practice tape and said he liked it .....With Theresa Drda (Greaseballs. ) on Drums and Michelle Primeaux ( Naughty Fairies .) on Lead Guitar. Brian McMahon Mit Das Volt (1996.) Solo project, ex - Electric Eels. Members of Velveteen Loveseat, Functional Blackouts, and even Sky Saxon's band. Also sang backing vocals with Screamin' Jay Hawkins and Andre Williams. Bloodshot Bill and I perform together, sporadically as Bloodshot Battles Overdrive. Not a band, a mutual admiration society. Like going to Lucha Libre matches, collecting records, coffee table books, videos, DVDs, horror memorabilia, and other things that I don't need, but, can't live without .
