    • There's a really solid album recently released called New Centre of the Universe from Anti Fade records..features a bunch of Geelong/Melbourne based bands..such as The Bonniwells, Bad Aches, Living Eyes, Ausmuteants and so forth.

Loving Bad Aches atm, one of the better Melbourne bands..recently seen bits of shit for the 3rd time and as always...really great stuff.

      Get on board.

    • Hi, I'm from Brisbane.  I am involved with a garage band called The Busymen in which I manage several of their webpages and do backing vocals for.  Also teaching the lead singer Boston Bob to play organ on some of the songs they do.

I've been into the Brisbane garage scene since the late 90's, and also like other acts like The DangerMen, Bertie Page Clinic, Pineapples From The Dawn Of Time, The Vaginabillies, The Hits, Screamin' Stevie's Australia, and Gravel Samwidge.

Other bands I am also involved with are a power pop act d-Wizz 2.0 at:  a co-ed act called Laissez-Fayre at: and  and an upcoming solo act mostly doing New Wave and 70's glam rock covers as well as originals written in that style.

    • Mel in Adelaide -- love garage and crusty old music -- the scuzzier the better. My partner is a hopeless 80's pop tragic -- the suffering my ears have endured! Glad to see an Oz/Nz group @ the Hideout. Newest obsession is Thee Gravemen.

    • Ahoy-hoy, better do the intro thing too, I play in a surf instrumental outfit called The Volcaniks ( We play a range of surf instrumental music but mostly early stuff and our own compositions. We are based in Victoria and gig around Melbourne and close to home (Mornington Peninsula). Reverb, twang, you know, the usual! Even though we play true early 60's surf choones we all like different music and all that.

Anyway been lurking for a while and thought time to step up and say hi....oh yeh all the best for the festive season!

    • Castlemaine - 1.5hrs in car/train from Melbs, near Bendigo. No permanent small/mid venues here but there's a few PA's floating around that can go into a pub/hall/gallery/backyard for a gig. There's a couple of noisy local bands.

    • What town? We'll be Melbourne side next year.

    • (This is an utterly useless reply since I'm not in Sydney, sorry chaps)

I dig - next time your near Melbs drop me a line if you want a detour into the country, we need some more snotty punks to shake up the hippies in our town.

    • Probably I should mention that we sound like this:

And that we're gonna be in Sydney Jan 6th-8th, but our Jan 7th show fell through. Anyone here know where might have us? Goodgod Small Club haven't gotten back to us, and I'm pretty much out of ideas.

Alteratively, anyone having a houseparty that needs a kinda crappy band of snotty loudmouths? We don't charge.

    • Hey Im from an Adelaide band calleed KAMIKAZE. We toured Melbs/Geelong a few weeks ago. I can highly recommend the Bendigo Hotel in Collingwood. Thats run by the same band booker, Dan Collins who used to do the legenday Arthouse. Another good club that bit the dust. Played with Seminal Rats and The Fuck ups there. Was great. Also I can recommend the Nash and the Barwon Club two venues in a satilite town just outa Melbs called Geelong. It rawks there too. Yeah, shame bout the Greyhound. Played there a few years ago and was good. Good to see the Tote back up after the licencing bullshit closed it. Happy to say I played Tote bout ten years ago but not now its reopened. Heard Yah Yahs is good too and apartently the Cherry Bar? Also  Lyrebird is one in St Kilda? I know the Corner Hotel but they haver bigger International and established bands yeah? I went to the Espy for the Monster sessions earlier this year and drinks were expensive and most of my local band mates have nothing much good ta say. Used to be legenday but looks like things change..

    • Hey Freakers, thinking of bringing your band to Adelaide, Murder City of Oz. Look no further than the best rock'n roll dive in town, The Forresters and Squatters Arms Hotel. Run by rockin rollers and music fans FOR Rockin rollers and music fans. Capacity over 200, with great stage, engineer and P.A supplied. So if ya touring, let me know asnd I'll hook you up. Otherwise come in for a beer if ya in town Im usually werkin anmd happy to meet ppl, specially off here. This aint an ad. Just trying to help bands get gigs and get drunk. Raaawk!! Dick Dale

Thats my band KAMIKAZE rawkin oout recently.
