    • Hi!

We are Moron's Morons. We hail from Warsaw, Poland and we play lo fi garage punk in style of Reatards, Dwarves, Teengenerate and the New Bomb Turks. We also take influences from '70s punk bands, such as the Dead Boys.

Some time ago we uploaded our demo on bandcamp. It's called Trash Can Glory and you can have a listen here: https://moronsmorons.bandcamp.com/album/trash-can-glory

      But that's not everything!

Our songs are also available on vinyl. Our debut seven inch was released by No Front Teeth Records from London and this is how they describe us:

"Debut 72 from MORON’S MORONS who play raw, snotty punk rock in classic Rip Off style... think Loli and The Chones, The Lids, The Infections etc mixed with some Buck Biloxi and Achtungs. Yes, this is very necessary. DON’T SLEEP!!"

Our records are available at NFT and various record stores., including Deadbeat Records for those of you who live in the US. They are also available directly from us, and shipping from Poland is ridiculously cheap.

A real treat for all you record maniacs: there are 8 versions of the cover!

Here's us playing Noise Addiction by Pure Hell: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_R1u1FqMPHo

YES! We have a drop-dead gorgeous bass player.

Follow us on facebook for more live recordings and keeping up to date: https://www.facebook.com/moronsmoronspunk/

      Cheers!

    • NEON HEARTS

      ‘Popular Music’

10 track red vinyl LP only • Label: Overground

      Cat. No: OVER 154LP • Barcode: 689492181611

      Release Date: 14th April 2017

The Neon Hearts were formed in the spring of 1977 by saxophonist Steve Heart who had left Suburban Studs. Other members soon joined: Paul Raven (bass), Keith Allen (drums), Martin Ratcliffe (guitar) and Tone Dial (vocals).

The band were highly committed and rehearsed for 3 hours nightly. They soon had plenty of songs and entered Ginger Studios to record the best of them. The result was the now legendary double A-side ‘Regulations’ and 'Venus Eccentric', released in December 1977 on their own Neon Hearts label. Packaged in an outrageous oversized 8" cover, a copy will now set you back £60.

The band established their own punk venue at the Lord Raglan in Wolverhampton and gigged furiously nationwide, building a substantial following and reaching the attention of many labels.

Despite various options, Neon Hearts made the wrong decision and signed to Satril. Immediately things started to go wrong as the label tried to manipulate the band by rewriting their lyrics, allowing them no say in the production of the records and releasing singles without their consent.

Satril released two singles ‘Answers’ and ‘Popular Music’. Line-up changes followed and by the time the album (also titled ‘Popular Music’) was released in April 1979, the band, dispirited, had already split.

There was a brief reformation before Tony joined Fashion, Paul Raven joined Killing Joke and later Prong and Steve formed 21c (21st Century).

This album closely repros the artwork of the original, but with the addition of a 12” card insert with sleeve notes from Steve Harrington, is packaged in a heavy duty cover and is on red vinyl and limited to just 500 copies.

      Track Listing:

      Popular Music /Armchair Thriller /Answers /Pin Cushions /Body Language /Number One Fan /Hideaway /Pretty As A Picture /Get So Many Pains /Party Games

    • THE CRAVATS

      ‘Blurred’ b/w ‘Bigband’

      2-track 7”/DL: Label: Overground Records OVER 153

      Release Date: 28th October 2016

What on Earth is going on? No new material for decades and suddenly a second single from those sax-riddling dadarians, The Cravats pops up in the year of our lard, 2016?

The first, March's critically acclaimed limited edition seven inch, Jingo Bells / Batterhouse, on Overground Records certainly did the business.

It sold out, got a healthy heap of radio play from the likes of Marc Riley, Gideon Coe and Henry Rollins amongst others, it pleased the faithful and corralled a whole new crowd of the curious to the Cravats congregation. Penny Rimbaud's tour guide portrayal in the Jingo Bells vid did the viewing figures no harm on YouTube and as a calling card it did what it was supposed to do . . . announce to the world that The Cravats were back.

So here we have the second single. Another two blisteringly twisted tracks of oddness from the Hieronymus Boschs of beat.

      Presenting Blurred and Bigband.

Blurred is a pop song. Okay, it's demented and somewhat demonic but it's the band's skewiffed, fuzzy felt face view of the bowel of confusion we inhabit. What do we do? Go over there? Come back again? Sit quietly waiting or wail uncontrollably? Everything is unintelligible and indistinct so squint. And why is it a pop song? Because it has 'Whoos' at the end of the chorus and the Beatles had 'whoos'.

Bigband is a pop song. Yes, it's teetering on the brink of cacophony, but it never quite falls off. We're all just drummers banging away in the background of someone else's bigband. We may wear the same shiny suit as the singer but we're scenery. We keep the pace. We're essential. A rimshot then a roll but always back to marking time. Step out of line and we're gone. Good and gone. And why is it a pop song? Because it ends with a gong the size of a bungalow.

The Cravats are: The Shend - Vocals, Svor Naan - Saxophone, Joe 91 - Bass, Rampton Garstang - Drums, Viscount Biscuits - Guitar

      THE JERKS

      ‘Jerk Off’

15 track • LP Only • Overground Records

Catalogue No: OVER 149LP• Bar Code: 689492172411

      Release Date: 5th Feb 2016

The definitive 15 track compilation of The Jerks studio recordings. Includes tracks from each of their three singles and nine previously unreleased gems including a cover version of California Sun. Packaged in a deluxe cover with rare photos and a 12” x 12” card insert with a detailed history written by the band and limited to just 500 copies.

Having witnessed the 1976 ‘Anarchy In The UK’ tour, five teenagers from West Yorkshire met in an a dilapidated garage and plugged in to create their own blend of noise, attitude and disturbance. This garage produced Yorkshire’s most successful punk rock band who outsold Abba in that part of the world and entered the top 100 with their debut single ‘Get Your Woofing Dog Off Me’, (definitely one of punk’s best debut records, released on their own Underground Records). To this day it remains one of the fastest records ever recorded.

Now selling for considerable sums of money, the tracks have been included on many of the legitimate and bootleg compilations from the era, the front cover of the single being used for one of the early volumes of Killed By Death. The success of the single ensured gigs were plentiful and tours followed with Sham 69, Penetration, Generation X, The Adverts and XTC.

Their increasing profile bought them to the attention of Lightning Records who promptly signed them while the major labels deliberated, this deal saw the release of their second single ‘Cool’ in 1978, produced by ex-Rolling Stones producers Bill Farley and Dave Hunt.

Lightning developed into Laser under the wing of Warner Brothers. The band relocated to London and recorded their third and final single ‘Come Back Bogart’ in January 1980. Despite good reviews and Radio 1 play the single failed to sell, so in the Spring of 1980 the band decided to call it a day.

The Jerks exemplified British punk rock: raw, urgent, fast and provocative. A strong visual image and no shortage of potential hit songs. With more vigorous marketing and a larger slice of luck, the ending could have been a lot different.
