Just ordered a pair of these Giorgio Brutini '60s-style Beatle boots from Zappos.com. I'm new to buying Beatle boots... anyone else around here have a pair of these? The reviews on that page sold me on 'em. Yes, it sounds like the sole is pretty thin and I'll probably end up taking these to a cobbler to have some protective rubber soles put on, but other than that I think they'll be perfect, and I'm really looking forward to wearing them. Maybe not quite as cool as the Cavern Boots that Beatwear UK sells, but a helluva lot cheaper and close enough for rock'n'roll.

I wore Beatle Boots for many years in the Speedies & Fuzztones. They look really cool, but they really, I mean really fucked up my feet. I almost needed an operation. So be careful . I would not wear them every day.

I totally forgot to mention that I just didn't get my boots because they had zipers on the sides but because they also FIT which is a rare thing when you're finding used items.

My boots aren't pointy and I have no idea what era they are actually from but because they a have a zipper on the side, I was happy to find them. I got them used at a place called Time Travelers over ten years ago but that store is gone now. I have a picture of them on my page in the slide show.

and those are so far removed from hipsterdom that they kinda seem fresh again.
Obama is now prez so it would be the first time i actually feel patriotic and unashamed to wear something w/ye ole stars and stripes.
      How about these chucks...

That made me feel a little better about the Docs I bought a couple weeks ago.

Yep, my current pair are the old-school Germs Vans:

I wear the slip-ons in the summer. My favorite pair has been the Galinsky model they came out with a year or two back. Love that surf/tiki style...

yeah vans are becoming increasing popular again.
they are kind of taking the place of chucks for a lot of kids.
the vans I like aren't the slip ons tho I have a pair.
I like the old school vans with the stripes... the old skateboarding shoe from the mid-late 80's.
      those are faves.
I got a high arch so I can wear chucks.
      they are poor made, however...

I don't remember if my first pair of coolness were Vans or Chucks, thinking Vans, but I'd love to get another pair with the guitars on them. Haven't seen a pair like that in forever.

Love the monkey boots! Still have a pair. I got mine a few years back, but I think they were like 50 bucks. Some place out of Seattle. Remember when they came in that Ox blood color? And the newbuck?

I have a pair of green suede monkey boots in my closet. I've probably had them for over 10 years. I rarely ever wear them, though, because they mark up the floor with scuff marks so bad.
