Does anyone of you use websites like ifreelance.com to find work? What's your experience with it?

Thanks for all the info guys!

Haven't heard of the freelancers union before, will have to take a look at it. Maybe I'll set up a profile there  as well.

Have any of you joined the Freelancers Union?

      http://www.freelancersunion.org/

I just stumbled across it a couple of weeks ago and joined... mostly out of curiosity. I don't really consider myself much of a "designer" or anything, even though I have dabbled in flyer art and album design in the past. I'd like to get into "freelancing" other talents, though, such as voiceover work and copy editing/proofreading, so I figured I might be able to use that site for that stuff, if nothing else. Click here to see my profile.

LinkedIn is for any type of work. You can also connect it with your Monster.com profile/resumes.

Never tried LinkedIn, I thought it was for "normal office jobs" only.

What Alex said. Most of the times it's hit and miss for me. I haven't done it in years. Anyone of you use LinkedIn?

+ that is also a nono: ("took my artwork and never paid, website didn't do anything about it")...

I have in the past, but my experience mostly sucked. Most of the people on there are just looking to hire the person who will accept the very least amount of money to execute their (typically) stupid, derivative ideas. I still do work for the one good client I met through Guru 6 years ago, so it wasn't all bad, I suppose.
