what about Stagg drumkits? I'm shure they're shitty but for 150€ is it worth to try as a first kit? I've been playing drums for three months so..

Gina Vah - Hi! Yeah ~ I bought my Gretsch as my first kit, too. I love it, but I've been saving money for a while now to get a new kit. I was just curious about what other drummers play. All the musicians that I have ever known have a favorite brand or style of their instrument that they prefer (ex. the lead guitarist of my band loves fenders, while the rythm guitarist loves gibsons ). I'm definately going to make up my own mind on what I get, I guess I just wanted to see what other people play. Thanks for replying. I will check out your band's website. My band is at myspace.com/originalthree
Did you see the damned video that someone sent to this post? i thought that was pretty cool. i love the damned. saw them play in detroit years ago. anyway~ thanks again... girl drummers rule! robin
I bought some years ago a Gretsch Catalina, because it had a good price, I am poor, and it wasn't that bad. In that period I liked the 20" kickdrum, but after a while I wished I had a bigger one, at least with a hole on it. Since I'm poor I'll keep my old one, but I agree, and understand your feeling! Otherwise you can play as I do with Alfredo Garcia and His Bikini Voodoo Drums, that is take it away directly, and just play snaredrum-floortom-cymbal (ride). Eventually standing. In the end, I unfortunately haven't any good advices... http://www.thewaukees.com/ag/TMP_AG/alfredo_garcia03.jpg sorry, some problems with the image...
All I can say is that I like this drum kit. Also, Pearl's site has "Drummer's Forum", and you can ask which maker's drum kit is best there! http://www.pearldrum.com/pearlusa.asp
Really?!? Nobody has an opinion?
I am looking into buying a new drum kit. I have a Gretsch that I bought about 8 yrs. ago that has just been beat to shit. It's had beer spilled and spit on it; other people have mistreated it; it's all dinged up from touring; and I want to get a new kit. It's time. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has any advice or any certain kits that they like. I'm thinking I want to have a 24" bass drum and a dark sound. I guess I'm wanting to know if anyone has a kit that they or their favorite drummer swears by that I can take into consideration as I look for my next drumkit.
usually, i just don't think, i must be in a good mood or in veery bad mood.. then it works, i catch the guitar began to play nothing, and in 10 minutes or so i got a song. other times i'm totally sick over a band or song and i really want to do something like that, but still.. i do the same, i always do the same because i don't know nothing about composing techniques or play lots of covers.. so if i rip off, it's without bad intentions, i hate to play songs of others, i like to write songs, not to play other songs.
my principal problem is that i must be excited with the music i'm listening at the time, music that makes me want to do something as good as that..if not, bad problem.. i don't care a lot, always the same, and write bad songs that i will throw to the garbage.
play in your own way.. i like to use chords from everywhere, they help me lot better to write songs since i use an acoustic guitar (i play in my band bass and sing, but compose near everything on acoustic guitar)
What about Motley Crue? Nikki Sixx 4EVER! hahahaha
Check out The Genders from Israel: http://www.myspace.com/thegenders
L.A. Guns? Give me a fuckin' break! "Hard rock" is generally NOT GOOD in my opinion. And that also goes for Nashville Pussy and the Reverend Horton Heat. They should've both hung it up a decade ago!
HOWEVER, I highly recommend The Raunch Hands, GG Allin, the Devil Dogs, 9 Pound Hammer, Sons of Hercules, Lazy Cowgirls, the Dirtys, Campus Tramps, etc.
The muthafuckin' JONESES!!!!!!!!! http://www.amazon.com/Criminal-History-Joneses/dp/B00003ZAHL <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Have to add the Dwarves to the list, the cover to Blood Guts and Pussy is just way to cool.
Less sleazy and more tasteless was the Mentors, never really comfortable with any of their music actually.
HEY...U JUST REMINDED ME I HAVE A CASETTE???? OF THE L.A.GUNS HAVENT PLAYED IT SINCE 1988

In the 50s it was all, as everyone is saying, flat wound strings, very heavy gage.
Those do have that sort of plonking sound you hear on records from that era but are hard to play and might even warp the neck of a guitar without a real solid truss in it. Funny you should be talkin' about Harmony Rockets...I've had a SERIOUS jones for onr of those lately. Right now, I have a Hagstrom Swede and a really solid LP Junior copy (Japanese).
get a rail road speaker and cut it in half. then try putting it back together with peanut butter. maybe take a whole bunch of cough medicine. i've been told that works.

I added you to my friends list and will PM you.

Dead Boys Return Of The Living Dead Boys: Halloween Night 1986 Description: On Halloween (of course!) 1986 the gods of punk rock rose from the dead. The original members of the Dead Boys reformed for a short jaunt to pre-Disney NYC and leveled the audience of old heads, burnouts, prostitutes, junkies, geeks and freaks. This DVD is the document of that hallowed evening at the Ritz. Stiv Bators, Cheetah Chrome, Jimmy Zero, Jeff Magnum and Johnny Blitz got it together for one more show in their old stomping ground of New York City. Starting with an introduction from long time supporter Joey Ramone, to the power riff of the honest-to-god anthem "Sonic Reducer" (played twice!) to an unreal cover of the Stooges' "Search and Destroy," the Dead Boys put the boot to the notion that all reunions suck. Media: Watch trailer/clip » Track Listing: Joey Ramone Intro Sonic Reducer All This And More Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth Calling On You Won't Look Back What Love Is I Need Lunch Ain't Nothing To Do Down In Flames Son Of Sam Detention Home 3rd Generation Nation Tell Me (cover) Search And Destroy (cover) Flamethrower Love High Tension Wire Sonic Reducer Bonus Materials: Super Rare 'Sonic Reducer' Video Rare 1980 TV interview featuring Stiv, musical collaborator Frank Secich and interviewer Gary Cubberly It's out now!
Always put your show on my iPod. Always great shit. Thanks!
To my knowledge there wasn't any other record containing 'Sore Loser' except the Sympathy soundtrack and the 45 you mention...
I would ask him, but I don't have myspace... thanks though.
