I'd also recommend the first 2 records. Both have been reissued on LP and shouldn't be too expensive. They also feature guitarist Cliff Galup who's often credited for being one of the best rockabilly guitarists in history. I think he left the group before they recorded their second record, but came back to play on it.

The first one 'Gene Vincent and the Bluecaps -Blue Gene Bop'; The second one is pretty good too (the one with 'Catman'); Gene Vincent has some great records up to the end of his life; 'Bird doggin', the song and album is the most garagey one;it has been reissued a couple of times through the years so you can find it a cheap price; Bop it up!

I've got a Guyatone TZ-2 The Fuzz and an Fuzzbrite by Ashbass (Mosrite Fuzzrite® clone). Both can get down right nasty but I kind of dig the Guyatone a little better for all around fuzzed out frenzies.

I have found that the Fuzzbrite has a pretty short decay when played with my set-up for surf Jazzmaster w/13 flatwounds through a '68 Bassman. I think some people desire that, but I dig my fuzz with a little more sustain and the Guyatone dials that in nicely. I've also got a Russian Pi Big Muff which offers up a real nice buzz saw sound as well, albeit a little more on the distortion side of the coin. After reading the replies on here, I really want to try a Rat but you know how the pedal thing goes...they seem to be quite addictive and I already have more than I can use right now!! I did see Davie Allan live last year absolutely killing it and he was using an old Rat and a modded out Jazzmaster.

Gutter Island! Vordingborg, Denmark, every other summer in the end of august. This year 22-23 aug. Can´t beat it... THE best one Hosted in an old fort, excellent lineup every time and the best of crowds. The funniest thing to attend since Rotterdam Rumble closed down

.....And we cant forget the fabulous Festival Beat in Italy! This Festival has been going strong for 15 years or so around the Piacenza and Parma area. For the last few years the festival has been held in a small town called Salsomaggiore in Emilia Romagna, Parma. Nearly every touring European garage-type band has eventually played there as well as many American bands new and old (or should I say legendary). The Festival Beat is 4 days (Thursday-Sunday) of non-stop stimulation with a pool party in the afternoon with DJ's and drinking then at six o'clock or so it's off to the pub for a few live bands and DJ's and more drinking. The main acts play on Friday and Saturday nights (4 or 5 bands a night with only 10 Euro entrance charge!!!) at a large open air park with food, drinks, and record and vintage clothing stalls. After the bands there is of course dancing until the pool party starts up again. I have been to the Festival Beat three times. Twice playing in a band and once as a party-goer and unlike a lot of 'scene' oriented festivals people are totally open and mixed and extremely sociable and up for having a great party and not criticizing you for not wearing the right kind of Beatle boots. The organization is flawless (for Italy that is really saying something) and the festival crew is partying right along with all the rest of the bands and the public. For me this year absolutely Sjock festival in Gierle. With 2 of mine all time favorites The Monsters and The Sonics. I did not know what to expect from a bunch of granddadios, but The Sonics where absolutely fantastic. It 's not about age or trendy outfits or fucking hyped by todays music industries, it's all about a bunch of good songs well preformed by their makers.

This was real fun time in a pretty sweltering packed house! The Trashwomen were a little rusty as could be expected but nonetheless totally rockin'. They ended their set with a wild rendition of Surfin' Bird with Russell Quan taking over on vocals. It was a great line-up and all the bands really bashed it out. Thee Cormans ruled it with their insult surf trash fuzz fueled destructo rock...they are one of my favorite bands and it was cool to finally get to see them live.

The Cynics "Rock and Roll" is my favourite album, bar none....and the first 2 and a half Lyres albums are hard to beat.

I'll throw another one out for the hell of it: STAY SICK by The Cramps. I know most folks probably like their earlier stuff better, but this has always been my favorite due to "Shortin' Bread," (I've used that one for a radio promo) "All Women Are Bad," "Muleskinner Blues" and especially "Bikini Girls with Machine Guns."

How the hell is a Cavegurl supposed to choose just one? Okay, Okay...I'll spare ya the obvious...like those essential Nuggets, Pebbles, Bomp, Rubble, Back from the Graves, Trash Box Set comps etc.
