    • Check out Eskorbuto. I´ve got one song by them called Mucho Policia Poca Diversion (Lots of Police, Not A Lot Of Fun) which is great.

    • Doctor Explosión sing both in english and spanish. Probably the best live spanish band in their style since the early 90's. They have some pretty cool albums, some of them recorded at Toe Rag. Their leader Jorge has this cool studio: http://www.circoperrotti.com/home.html From the 80's, Los Negativos were the faves among the Garage-psych-mod crowd, with a classic debut album from 1986, 'Piknik Caleidoscópico', one of the highest rated ever 60's styled spanish albums. From the 60's, my faves are Los Cheyenes, Barcelona's own Pretty Things, early Kinks and dutch Outsiders all in one. Wilder than the (otherwise excellent) Los Salvajes. In a more Beat mood, some stuff by Madrid's Los Brincos is also top class. Los Cheyenes and Los Brincos have been covered in past issues of 'Ugly Things'. Here's Los Cheyenes:

I've been told the new Wau y los Arrrghs album is awesome, but I haven't heard it yet. And add Los Fumestones to the list, too!

    • They were great. They're on the first World Beaters CD. I played their song "Al Capone" on my radio show last night. There's also a band called "Gatos Salvajes" who have a couple of songs on World Beaters. They're from Argentina though, while Salvajas were from Spain. PJ Dirty Water said:

From the sixties, Los Salvajas are my favourite.

    • Los Peyotes (Argentina)
      Hollywood Sinners (Spain)
      Wau & Los Arrrghs (Spain)
      Los Tigres del Norte (Mexico)

      (from the '80s)
      The Plugz (Los Angeles)

    • I saw Arthur Lee get kicked out of the Roxy Theatre (circa 19777) and he was packing heat!

I got the DVD on eBay and it's a great movie to watch. I highly recommend it. And yes, there are extras (good ones).

    • well, tho your review is mixed - I'll still check it out. De Capo is one of my fave records.
i once really thought i saw Arthur Lee in a Borders bookstore on 3rd st. in Santa Monica.

he looked homeless and was drinking a cup of coffee. This was in '99 maybe.
when you live in L.A. you catch sightings like that. and then i heard he was homeless...?

i just saw "Billy Childish is Dead."

what can i say. loved it.

    • Any punk records stores in your area? I got mine at one for a standard price. Also ebay.com has lots of reasonably priced Trashwomen records.

If you want I can send you some of their stuff to get your fix (send me your email addr) but you should really purchase them from the record store if you can. Or like Sectmaniac said contact Elka on myspace, she is quite the friendly lass.

    • Try and contact Tina or Elka on Myspace. They might still have a few laying around.

    • Last time we were at Goner Records (a couple of weeks ago), there were a couple of the "Deep Space" lps in stock for 9 or 10 bucks, which is much less than what I paid on ebay. You might want to email 'em. I was actually just on ebay trying to find the Purple Onion live lp and I believe I saw "Spend the Night with..." listed. Check it out! And good luck.

    • My beautiful daughter gave me not 1, not 2, but 3 volumes of WORLDBEATERS ('60s garage rock from all sorts of foreign countries -- lots of South American and European nations, a few from Asia, even Papua New Guinea) She gave me Vols. 5, 10 and 11. I already had Vols. 1 and 6.

    • Definitely the Bambi Molesters, tho I'm not sure if they are still a band!?!

    • I bought the self titled Unknowns record at the Pasadena record swap a few weeks ago when I got home I looked inside the sleeve there was the record along with another record that turned out to be the an original test pressing of the same record ( hit the swap meet lotto). I like the band but not enough to really care about the test pressing, I’m sure it’s worth something and seeing as I already have the record was wondering if there are any fans of this early 80’s cult band from San Diego? Have no interest in selling the test pressing but would be happy to trade for something I want for it. 3 records that come to mind are an original copy of Dennis Wilson Pacific Ocean Blue on the Caribou Label 1977 Bo Diddley’s Beach Party/ Checker records 1963 Wire Pink Flag/ Harvest Label 1977 But I’m open to any offer if anybody really wants this or is interested let me know.
