Hey...I always hear about these great bands from Latin America, but haven't pick up anything. I'd appreciate as many recommendations as you can throw out there! Thanks!

Bringing it back from the grave!
I have some latin bands to share. Not many, certainly there's plenty more. But, there goes:

      PERU

Los Saicos -Don't know yet? Really ahead of his time! 60's punk at its best! The peruvians are claiming the paternity of punk rock because of them.

Manganzoides - Freaked out garage rock band that blends surf, horror and punk.

      BRAZIL

Thee Butchers' Orchestra (SP) - Soulful and bluesy raw rock and roll trio. They have albums produced by Dan Kroha (The Gories, Demolition Doll Rods) and Tim Kerr (Big Boys, Poison 13).

Os Haxixins (SP) - Tight played garage-psych with some lysergic fryin' organ, something that 13th Floor and Music Machine fans should appreciate.

Damn Laser Vampires (RS) - While in activity, they held the fame of best live act in his town. Cramped-garage-punk with some polka music.

O Lendário Chucrobillyman (PR) - Most reputable brazilian one-man-band.

Los Muertos Vivientes (ES) - Trash-surf-music with some mexican lucha libre spices.

Autoramas (RJ) - Good garage rock act, more radio-friendly and well known.

      ARGENTINA

The Tandooris - Really enjoyed their heaviness, a protopunk delight with some fuzz and psychedelia.

      MEXICO

Los Explosivos - Raw and sick garage punk in the 90's style.

San Pedro el Cortez - The mexican Black Lips!

Unfortunately, many of these bands don't exist anymore.

I also recommend nice comps like Brazilian Nuggets, Brazilian Fuzz Bananas, Psicofásicos de Bolivia, etc.

Soon I will talk some more.
