Hi Chris,
I'm a bassist primarily (and half-assed guitarist who plays acoustic & electric). I've been playing some form of instrument for the past 15 years. I'm heavily into Ramones, and quite a lot of other Punk, Pop Punk, Punk Rock etc... I'm quite interested in this. Gimme a shout if you want more details, or contact info.
Brian
EDIT: btw, it's not entirely relevant but I'm in Dublin, Ireland.
hell yeah i'd love to lay some bass on that
Hey there!!
I want to make a 7" very soon - this is a recording only project so your location doesn't matter! I have guitar tracks and guide vocal, but need female vox, bass and drums! Music is fierce garagey new-wave in the vein of early Donnas, Loli and the Chones, Ramones. Really rough guitar with great tunes! I will finance the pressing of 500 copies. Join me!!! Age, inexperience etc irrelevant!
Thanks,
Chris

I have a "Fender 30". Yes, that is the name of the amp. Great push-pull nobs, good crunch and very versatile. Lots of tube power and can plug into 8ohm cabs for bigger shows. Love it!
Hey you guys! Happy Thanksgiving! Thanks for all the info!
VERY Cool video Id kill to see the lyres once idn if they ever make it close to nebraska
Here's a link to a cool radio show called Real Cool Time (hosts are on this board) where there's some video of The Lyres from the above mentioned Toronto show...Brian Young on bass, Rob Toad on guitar and probably Marky Toad on the drums and of course Monoman!!

I just realized my cut and paste didn't work, Instead of Manby's Head's Hideout page link I posted the serial number for the belt on my vacuum cleaner.
Here's the link: http://garagepunk.ning.com/profile/manbyshead
Jeff just played a show in Toronto this past weekend w/Crummy Stuff as his backup band...doing Lyres stuff i would assume as that's the way the show was billed.

That live Lyres album on Crypt is a must-have, too.

Yes,"The way...." is a great song-I like most the cd"the early years79-83"(Crypt records),because it has this raw garage sound.I saw them once in Berlin in the 80`s-it was amazing-LYRES rule!!!But DMZ are also VERY VERY good.

Peter Greenberg, an DMZ currently lives in Taos, NM and plays in a band called Manby's Head. They've got a Hideout page: 38528034
Awesome Ill give em another go
You should get into DMZ. I think I might even like them more than the Lyres. Another side-project of those guys you should seek out are The Customs... their "Real Long Gone" album on Shake It Records is great. Check this page for more:
but £££
Nothing beats a Rickenbacker and an old fender tube amp!
Wow, so now yesterday we opened for them, and they were so fucking great! Can't believe they made such a huge and interesting sound with only two people. And nice guys they are, too! I hope they come back to Southern Germany again, it was a blast!
Kira Wilson rocks vox and bass in The Mod Lang; our 60's-inspired garage pop band. CHeck out "Bliss"!
Yeah, on top of what Dave said, every major denies this. Billboard thinks this is completely bogus. Every other major industry magazine has either denied it or only reported on it as something that's a "rumor." Only Side-Line reported that. Every other one of the myriad versions of this story is based on the Side-Line story, which is ridiculous, given that the majority of major label profits are still CD sales. It's been discredited several times but it's just one of those 2012 doomsday theories that won't go away.
I mean, people are still makin' cassette tapes. CDs aren't going anywhere for a long time. Especially while WalMart has a chance to sell Poison and Garth Brooks albums to portly southern men. Some people might prefer MP3s and Vinyl and that's cool but you can't listen to Vinyl records in your Prius, and you can't package and promote an MP3. So until all music retail is dead, I think we're going to see CDs around.
