Radio What Wave Playlist March 2 2018
Thanx for all the phone calls, emails, messages and Heys!!! Dunno about the request for Morrissey though, but maybe Lindsay Hutton would know more, as he was involved at the very beginning of the Legion Of The Cramps fan club.
No show next week as we’re pre-empted by a live broadcast from the Spoke Tavern here at Western. In an earlier life, The Spoke was known as The Spoke and Rim, was in a different building, and had bands like Blue Peter, Teenage Head, Rough Trade and Bop Cats play in it. Our next show will be March 16th and it’ll be a Record Show special as the London Record Show is on March 18th.

Radio What Wave Playlist February 23/2018 All Black Show and Live to Air with After Funk
This was an all Black show as February is Black History Month and CHRW has a full day of Black music coming up on Tuesday. We also had a surprise live to air with After Funk, as they were in the studio taping a live performance for the Top 30 Countdown Show that airs the next day, and they were playing live at Call The Office on the eve of this show.
Out of time, but certainly not out of music. Huge Thanx to After Funk for playing an impromptu live to air session……had no idea they were going to be in the studio! And a Huge thanx for all the phone calls as the phone was ringing off the hook for a good part of the show and missed several calls. And Thanx for all the texts, emails, FB messages and Heys!!! Had an absolute Blast doing this show and hopefully we had some listeners up and dancing for this one.
Back again next week and already have a few requests lined up.

Radio What Wave Playlist February 9/2018
If you haven’t heard the news, it’s true!! The referendum passed and CHRW will continue on with $10.50 funding from every undergrad student here at Western University!! That means we can carry on, business as normal and keep the music and info flowing out the airwaves of CHRW!!
Big thanx for all the phone calls, emails, messages and Heys!!! Back again next week with lots more tunes, maybe some Johnny Cash and the following week it’s an All Black show as February is Black History Month.

Radio What Wave/Invisible Man Playlist February 2/2018
A combined shot of CHRW’s Radio What Wave and UMFM’s Invisible Man over the airwaves of both radio stations at the same time!! You might even call it a simulcast, and according to all involved, this was a first for both radio stations!!
What started all this, The Invisible Man said he happened to be coming to London to visit family and would it be cool to drop by the radio station and appear on the show. I quickly agreed and said ‘maybe I should do an all Winnipeg show’ since The Invisible Man is from Winnipeg. CHRW’s PD Pam said that’s a cool idea, and somehow along the way, it was decided that UMFM would air Radio What Wave (with The Invisible Man as guest) in the usual Radio WW time slot, which is only 1 hour different from the regular Invisible Man time slot (our shows regularly overlap by 1 hour, but we’re in different time zones!). So what the listeners got, was a show that was broadcast in London Ontario and Winnipeg Manitoba simultaneously….for you non-Canadians reading, that’s half way cross the country!
We had a blast yammering about old bands, places, new bands and music in general and think both of us learned a lot.
A really fun show to do as we could have gone on for another hour or 2 easily as there was so much more we could have covered. Maybe someday, we can repeat this little adventure. Big Thanx to the crews at both CHRW and UMFM for undertaking the behind the scenes work to make it all happen!! And big Thanx to The Invisible Man for co-hosting and being real easy to work with!

Radio What Wave Playlist January 26/2016
Big Thanx for all the phone calls, emails, messages and Heys!!! Back again next week with The Invisible Man, from the show of the same name on UMFM out of Winnipeg. The 2 of us clowns will be attempting to play some Winnipeg, London and tunes from who knows where else next week. And the show will be aired on CHRW as per usual, and also over the airwaves of UMFM as The Invisible Man hosts a show there at almost the same time as this show airs. Sure to be some pandemonium and loads of laughs at the hosts expense! You’ll have to tune in to see how much we can screw up!
