I had the pleasure of seeing him live at that now infamous show at the Gas Station in NYC....but steered clear from the front of the stage & flying feces/cum/snot etc. He was actually kinda shy and quiet when I talked with him alone, away from his "fans"....but he was as sick as they come. But looking back and listening to him now...there are only a few songs that get me off nowadays...

Just watched some GG on YouTube. Sure is a dumbass, but a very legendary one.
I remember when GG Oded, a few guys here in Oz being really upset, and yes one of them did set up a shrine, but he was from Geelong.

I must say, when I was much younger I thought this guy was hillarious. But then I started to think that a guy as old as he was still eating his own shit was kind of rediculous. I mean I grew out of the "eating my own shit" phase once I turned 16 or something.

Legendary entertainer. He made simple and catchy songs, almost primal rockabilly like "cock on the loose, hard candy cock and bite it you scum." To me they are pure rock and roll anthems. Love his work, not so much as person. Merle is cool though.

hey all. Apparently I'm the only person I know going to the FIRST night of cavestomp, friday november 2nd. I hate going to shows alone. if anyone's in a similar situation and wants to meet up, drop me a line!

Maybe I am a bit slow on the uptake, but it took over 20 years and an article in the very un-garage punk mag, The Wire to finally start listening to The Melvins.
Since playing their Senile Animal release I've wrapped my ears round Bullhead, Ozma, Stoner Witch and today will be spent listening to Houdini.
I've even turned a couple of the Nu Metal fans at work on to them.

It was the same for Husker Du. I bought Land Speed Record when it came out, but didn't pay any attention to any of their releases after that because they weren't "punk" enough.
Years after they break up I hear a best of album and wonder what they fuck was I thinking? These guys rock! My Cd of Candy Apple Grey is always on high rotation at Yates Manor.

Let me know what bands you took some time to discover and how.

Anyway I've gotta go now and read a blog about some guy called Neil Young.

Rainbo in Santa Monica does very good work. www.rainborecords.com If you're using United, I'd recommend getting your records mastered elsewhere and having the masters sent to United - their mastering department was very shoddy when I was using them some years ago. Shipping will be a significant factor in the cost, so united may wind up being much cheaper for the Midwest and East. Also, 10"s generally cost more than 12"s, so unless you plan on shipping a lot of them overseas, you may want to just do it on 12". You can do like Sven-Erik Geddes did with the Shatners' record and use the extra space for something nutty.

We mostly use United, but we did go through recordpressing.com for one of our releases. Both of them do 10" records, i think.

I'm looking for a song and I thought someone here might be able to help me out. I'm trying to find the flipside to Red Beard & The Pirates "Go On Leave / Don't Be A Loser" 45. I've got "Go On Leave" on three or four different comps but I can't find "Don't Be A Loser" anywhere. An mp3, a cdr, a cassette, anything will do. I just need a copy of the song. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help out or point me in the right direction.
