Gregg Turner or Howie " We Own The Air" Klein: Do you like Lou Reed , Roky?
Roky : Sure , I'm the only one that can hold him in his hand , sure.
Thanks for posting. I was just talking about Bill "Billy Angel" Miller with a friend the other day. I like this , tho' the feedback's killin' me. I KNOW , THAT'S THE IDEA.

Love their previous gritty garage records, was a bit non-plussed by the techno outing, but for me this is their best so far! Totally love the sweet summertime drenched pop harmonies.

I'm extremely late in replying to this , but , I did'nt know about it , I did'nt see anything about it , previously. I knew Matt , in passing. A very funny guy , he was always nice to me , even though he did hit me in the head with his guitar . It was an accident. The Candy Snatchers were playing a show with The 5-6-7-8's. Some kid knocked over their mike stand. The reason this was an issue was , I found out later , the club had told them if they damaged their mikes or mike stands , they'd pay for them. But , the little fucker tried to hide behind me . Matt swung his guitar at him , missed , and grazed my forehead. Fortunately , I was more shocked than actually badly hurt. I was more angry with the kid than with Matt , and I tried to chase him , but , he got away. And , I was more angry with HIM because he just let me "Take a bullet" for him , so to speak. After their set , Matt did come over and apologize to me , saying he did'nt see that I was standing right in front of the little shit , and told me why he swung his guitar like that , missing him , getting me , by mistake. He said he was angry because he did'nt want to pay for a damaged mike or stand . "I LOVE YA , JOHN !" , he said , "YOU OLD BLACK HOMOSEXUAL !". Please bear in mind , that just came out of nowhere. By that time , though , The Candy Snatchers were leting their "Alice Cooper Theatrics on a GG Allin Budget" take precedence over their music. I saw them , earlier , third on the bill to The Meteors and local "Psychobilly" band , Wreckin' Ball , who were great when they started , but , sucked by this time , and had a much bigger following in Chicago than even The Meteors to show for it. There were only about 12 people in the room when they went on , so , they focused on putting on a great , tight , Punk Rock show , instead , keeping those 12 people in the room . No setting the bass on fire , no throwing up , no blood. Just Rock'n'Roll . I know I spoke to Matt , who I met at the show , once or twice on the phone before the other gig , a year or so later. Sorry to hear about you , Matt : (

I saw The Priests , once. They reminded me a lot of The Cynics , but that's kind of unavoidable , I guess.

FYI, Sad News:
"Fast Eddie" Altesleben, drummer for raucous Detroit rockers The Clone Defects (In The Red), passed away unexpectedly a couple weeks back. The Clone Defects are best known for their wildman Timmy Vulgar, who is also frontman for bands like Timmy's Organism, Human Eye, and more.

I like the name "House Full of Naked People" , even though I'm POSITVE I would not like their music , if they were a real band.
My first little band , in High School , was called "Born in an Elevator'' , a name I lifted from my Brother w/o his consent. The others , one of whom was from Sussex , UK , did'nt like the name , said it was too long , but long band names were "In " at the time.
Myself , I remember coming up with these names : Malaria (Which turned out to be a real band's name.).
Green Chinese Vomit (OK , a friend said that to me , trying to gross me out , but it was my idea to use it as a joke band name.).
The Inedible Punks.
Christian Marxists.
Neutron Prom (I did use that one.).
Elvis From Hell (Used that , too.).
Later in life , Psycho * Davy and I played out as : Sick Sober and Sorry (An old Elvis quote I said to Dave. It was HIS idea to
use it as a band name , though.). We also performed as The 13th Floor Elvis Impersonators . I also played out just once with Daughters of Frankenstein ,in which I was the only "Male member". If I think of more of my earlier band names I thought of , I'll postthem , here. There really were some good ones. Honest.
November 4, 2013 1:03 PM CST
Haha, I'm way too old to remember what band names I thought of as a kid! But I see words or phrases almost daily in people's Facebook status updates or news stories that would make for some pretty killer band names.
Some recent ones I've whipped out:
Giant Dick From Space
Nattering Nabobs of Negativity
Nature Is Nasty
Street Taco
New World Army Screw Worms
Underground Landfill Fire
Baseball Activities
Beautiful Sag
Lobotomized Demeanor
Right-Wing Truckers
Twisted Wrister
Backyard Rollercoasters
African Dust Clouds
Sassy Black Grandpas
Mega Balls
Pink Slime
etc. etc. etc.

I used to come up with band names as a teen, often of one word, so see what did you come up with? I came up with this:
Lathe
Pants
Bomb
Combat 18 and a half
A House Full of Naked People
Motorpsycho FC
Tri-power & The Hemis
Later:
The Spindle Mounts
The Whitewall Slicks

Always a bummer to miss FIDLAR, couldn't get to the recent show in Montréal because of work crap, they were also with The Orwells and that is definitely a band I'd love to see live too

Dick Dodd , legendary Lead Singer and Drummer for The Standells , has been diagnosed with Stage Four Cancer. Available reports were somewhat conflicting.
He is reported as having Spinal , Liver, Spleen and Esophogeal Cancer , though a spokesman retracted the statement about the latter. He was also reported to have two tumors to the brain , though treatment on that will be put on hold , as other factors have impaired his ability to eat. Combined , the reports strongly suggest that all of these reports , barring the Esophogeal Cancer , are true. Surely , more information will be made available in a matter of days. Dodd told the press that he is determined to perform again.
Dodd had recently rejoined The Standells , whose current lineup includes founder/Keyboardist , Larry Tamblyn , "Try It " era Bassist and founding member of Love , John Fleckenstein ,and special guest Guitarist , Johnny Echols from Love. However , his rapid departure caused some low - key controversy. I don't know the whole story behind that , so I won't get into it here. More information on how you can donate to Dodd's medical fund , or just send him an encouraging message can be found on Dodd's Face Book , and elsewhere. Dick Dodd enterred showbiz in the 50's on "The Mickey Mouse Club" (His Father was Jimmy Dodd , co - host of the program.). He drumed for classic Surf groups , The Bel - Aires and Eddie and The Showmen , and joined The Standells (In'64?) , appearing on TV SHOWS LIKe "tHE bING cROSBY sHOW" , "bEN cASEY" , AND , OF COURSE "The Munsters" . tHEY ALSO APPEARED IN THE MOVIES , "Zebra in The Kitchen" , "Get Yourself a College Girl" , and teh Teen-Drug Exploitation fave , "Riot on Sunset Strip".
IN 1966 , THE BAND BUSTED WIDE OPEN WITH "DIRTY WATER" , FOLLOWED BY LESSER HITS LIKE "SOMETIMES GOOD GUYS DON'T WEAR WHITE" AND "TRY IT".
They split up in 1968 or '69 , though future Little Feat leader , Lowell George would briefly join the band in Dodd's absence , and a later comeback attempt was made in the early 70's , with only Tamblyn and Guitarist , Tony Valentino in tow. The two would try to reform the group , again , in the early 80's , briefly bringing Dickie back into the fold. The classic "Dirty Water" lineup played at the Super 60's Festival in 1986 , WITH lOVE , sKY saxon , Eric Burdon , Spirit and others , and the band would turn up off and on into the new millineum. In 1999 , Valentino , Tamblyn and Dodd played a triumphant set at The Cave Stomp in New York , doubly impressive , as they had to follow an astonishing set by the monks. Both bands took the prize that night , if for totally different reasons. Dickie also fronted Joshua in the early 70's , who , despite a wretchedly Hippie - sounding name , released one LP , of Latin - tinged Hard Rock , not thoroughly removed from The Garage. He's performed Soul - flavored Rock under his own name and as The Dodd Squad since THE 80'S.
Think a good thought for the man. We all owe him a debt.

Right on! I'm missing out on a show because i'm one month shy of being old enough. Dammit, I'm pretty pissed, would have been a rad show. I've only listened to a couple songs by Sneaky Pinks. Nobunny is friends with Hunx and His Punx, listen to them? They're awesome.
