I got me a complication
And it's an only child
Concernin' my reputation
As something more than wild
I know it serves me right
But I can't sleep at night
Have to hide my face
Or go some other play-ay-ay-ay-ay-ace
I won't cry out for justice
Admit that I was wrong
I'll stay in hibernation
'Til the talk subsides to gone
My social life's a dud
My name is really mud
I'm up to here in lies
Guess I'm down to size
To size
Can't seem to talk about
The things that bother me
Seems to be
What everybody has
Against me
Oh, oh, all right
Here's the situation
And how it really stands
I'm out of circulation
I've all but washed my hands
My social life's a dud
My name is really mud
I'm up to here in lies
Guess I'm down to size
To size

for first GONN-Blackout of Gretely and the Wailers Hang Up, and many songs by the Music Machine: Double Yellow Line, Trouble, etc... thanks and kisses from italy!!
I have a friend who has started up doing 45 and (eventually) 33 RPM analog "Reference" and "Master" Lacquer Cuts, using All-Analog classic equipment here; http://www.groove-o-matic.com/ It is priced very affordable and you can get "Rush Service" to get things delivered ASAP. I have had this done and they sound like real mono 45s and if requested you can have your Master Reference Cut made for Pressing runs of 45s (and soon 33s). All in glorious MONO on real classic Analog Gear (with no Digital Trickery!) Tell 'em I sent ya OK!
Hey, cheers... That Hollybilly cd looks right up my street...
the Spanish rockabilly label El Toro has released everything Buddy Holly recorded in 1956-1957...yo can find it here: http://www.eltororecords.com/english/index.html
Does anyone have some suggestions of good Live/Demo recordings that are out their? I tend to find alot of them rock more than the actual sides... Like the Jerry Mcain Excello Demos or Bob Keanes Ritchie Valens recordings... Jerry Lee Lewis Live at the Star Club... That cool New York Dolls demo album on norton etc.
I haven't heard the Buddy Holly Apartment tapes, but hear they're pretty cool, has anyone re-issued em?
Any genre really... But I'm especialy lookin' fer Old 50's Rock and roll/RNB hoots...

hi there it's a bitt late but anyway this is a great site with all volumes and there tracklists Girls in the garage The 7" versions are dope volume 5,5 and 6,5 a real collectors item!!!Actually, I need some help. Does anyone know a site that has a track list for these compilations? Because I'm seeing some conflicting information floating around and it's getting impossible to keep track of.
The Urges - Psych Ward
The Miracle Workers - Inside Out
King Khan & BBQ Show - What's for Dinner
Not in my turntable but in my radio... Rolling in my car: "We came in peace" by te Brimstone howl and Death rodeo by the "Blood safari"... And always in my car, my room, everywhere... COACHWHIPS.
I don't know if you have tried, but I have gotten some good feedback from the Vox website. There's an online group I joined that mighy be able to help you. They also have a classified section that you can ask for what you are looking for. They helped me keep my Vox Jaguars, and my Vox Beatle working. And I also have a Vox Phanthom 12 string. Try them at NorthCoastMusic.com. attn:DOCTORVOX. Hope this helps. John
Thanks for all the posts guys.
I'll be looking into all of them.
I think The Who and The Kinks could be classed as Garage, but I would class them as British Invasion; but then again I don't count British Invasion as a real genre because really it's just 50s Rock N Roll come full circle; and isn't Garage just Rock N Roll played more aggresively?
Tis a tough cookie.
If you want modern garage i'd pick up the Oblivions, Gories, Mighty Caesars first... For 60s stuff I'd dig The Monks, Chimney Sweeps and the back from the grave series...
The Jaynetts are pretty damn cool "Sally go round the Roses", although they tend to do alot of versions of the same tune with different lyrics, cause it was a big hit for em... Like their christmas song "Snowman, Snowman, Sweet potato nose"... I also dig the bobbettes "I Shot Mr.Lee"... (1957 tho) Rosie and the Originals "Angel Baby"... Which Roky Erickson covered on "Don't knock the rok"...

good suggestions. One comp in particular you might be interested in if you have the $ or you're on a file sharing site: One Kiss... Also, the Girls in The Garage series is worth checking out. Both sides of the Pleasure Seekers available 45 are on Norton's "Hideout" comp of Michigan bands and the 7" has also been reissued. Anyone ever heard anything about their "Light Of Love" / "Shame" (Mercury) 1967 single? Man, i'd love to hear that! For main stream stuff, there are a lot of good girl groups comps that you can normally find digging through the buck bins. They usually chock full of groups like the Shangri-Las, Shirrelles, Ronettes, Crystals and Angels.... All of whom are in the same vein, but the Shirrelles and the Ronettes are my personal favorite. A lot of the motown stuff is pretty great too... The Supremes (Before Diana Ross became the vocal point), Marvelletes and Martha and The VAndellas are can't miss records.
