Are you plugging directly into the recorder or are you placing a microphone to the cab? If the latter, try turning down the gain to avoid clipping. If DI check your levels as well.

If by double track you mean overdub, you must first be using a multitrack recorder. If you are, record the first segment on a track, then set that track to "monitor." Then input your signal while the first track is playing back.

you need a 2 track(at least) recorder to double track.as for feedback, it is the microphone of the device. try plugging a microphone on the recorder and put it in some distance from the amplifier to avoid feedback. I hope i was of help.

hey i have been fiddeling with how to record demos on casset tapes for a while and i seem to get feed back from out of nowhere on the tapes when using my electric guitar any one know why and dose any one know how to double track on the tapes thanks

CD-Rs replaced tapes for me ages ago. It's quicker to burn a CD then copy it to tape than mix the tape yourself if you have a car with only a cassett deck. I don't have a car any more so find that putting everything I have onto Media Player gives me one giant jukebox for when I'm at home and not listening to podcasts.

tapes are cheap and easy..mp3s and pod casts are great when your online. its the transfer from there that you need to buy stuff for that makes me resist!!... tom mcneill said:

I got into a lot of these '77' Australian bands and found this comp 'Inner City Sound' which also has a book that you can get also (I don't remember if they came together) but it covers the late seventies and early eighties 'post punk' Australian bands. A pretty good read and the cd has a really cool fold out insert with a 'family tree' of all these bands as a lot of the guys went from one band to another.
