Cool Edit Pro is a great recording program and free, i use 1.2 for mastering and multi-tracking. Its extremely basic and easy to use. Also i recommend Rhythm Rascal which is a pretty basic drum program where you can add your own drum sounds and edit the loose and evenness of the playing. I think i paid $10 and have never been disappointed.

I'm very new here but have loved the podcasts for a while. Hence I want to try my hand at doing one myself. I have a lot of good music from podsafe but I have a lot of classic stuff I want to play too (Monks, Sonics, Screamin' Jay possibly). I have all this stuff on Cd and iTunes so would it be illegal slap those up there?

This is a great discussion by the way. I was reading in my local paper (for Vashon, WA) that they cancelled the high school prom due to low ticket sales. Why low ticket sales? Because the school banned grinding, which isn't even dancing as far as I'm concerened. I can't understand how it is that kids can't learn real dancing, even Washington DC go go styles. I'm starting to think that watching Shindig and Hullabaloo should be a school requirement.

Joe Strummer was really good in Mystery Train though, especially love the scene where he shoots Rockets Redglare in the liquor store.
