Just curious what vinyl pressing plants labels are using these days. United? Also, which ones press 10"s?

For two years me and my buddy have been doing Under The Mattress, out in Boulder, CO on Radio 1190 (KVCU). Honestly, it's one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, and hopefully I'll be doing it long enough to get sick of it.

Kopper, sorry to hear you're not doin' the show anymore. But I dig the Garage Punk podcasts site. Mike www.wholelottshakin.net

I've been doing my show, Trash-o-matic Garbage A-go-go, on KUCI for over 3 years now. I've been able to meet a lot of great people through it and have been lucky enough to have some great bands on the program. If you're curious, you can find out more on my Myspace page: www.myspace.com/trashomatic.

The Rock And Roll Dance Party, Tuesday 9pm - midnight on WUSB 90.1FM Stony Brook, New York.... on the air since '94. Still knocks me out. Sure it's a hell of a lotta work but, it's an opportunity to unleash some wild sounds on the public at large. Oh yeah, there's that podcast thing. Rock'n'Roll Suicide.... a completely different animal.

I don't have one anymore, and I like it like that. But for almost 11 years, I hosted The Wayback Machine on KDHX FM 88.1 in St. Louis.
Doing that shit week in and week out for that long was enough for me!
Anyway, never mind me. What show do YOU do?

Finally have my new audioblog up and running - DAMN IT'S HOT!, which will feature all kinds of rhythm, blues, soul, funk, wild rock 'n roll, and anything else I think it HOT! Two posts went up today - the first is the Sharon Jones single that inspired the blog's name, the second a repost of the Mad Daddys' long out of print Apes Go Wild lp that I originally posted on an earlier blog. Check it out, and use the comment function, I wanna hear what you think of the tunes and what you wanna see on DIH! in the future. DAMN IT'S HOT!

It makes me think of "Hideaway" by Freddie King... that's goood.
July 3, 2007 9:49 PM CDT
Definitely like the name Kopper, I think you nailed it.
July 3, 2007 1:57 PM CDT
Why not call it the Cave-in?
July 3, 2007 7:05 AM CDT
Hi Kopper,
Thanks for the invite. Actually, The Hideout was located in St. Clair Shores, a suberb of Detroit. MANY of Michigans greatest played there. Bob Seger and The Amboy Dukes just to name a couple.

Ha! Cool...

The office room where I check my internets is called The Hideout. So now I can check on The Hideout from The Hideout. Double secret!

Do you guys like the "Hideout" name? I also though of The Cave... and a few others that weren't as good. I suppose "Hideout" is as good as anything. What do you think? It needs to be short and have that "garage rock" feel about it.
Thanks,
kopper

Webzine, e-zine, or the real printed deal?
What is it? Tell us about it.

You can download any episode simply by right-clicking on the "podcast" link from the blog post and selecting "save to desktop" or "download file" or whatever it says (if you're on a PC). Option+click on a Mac will download it automatically, too.
How exactly is your iTunes fucked up, though?
June 30, 2007 4:40 PM CDT
YES! go right to www.garagepunk.com and download them under each posting; the button that says podcast links to the files, you may have to right click and go to save as if you have quicktime, but it's that easy!
June 30, 2007 3:48 PM CDT
You can listen to them via the RSS feed or any of the GaragePunk sites. But as for downloading, yeah i-tunes is the one I know and I don't know of any others. But then again, with all those feed players going on, the only reason to download is to put shows on your i-pod
June 30, 2007 3:19 PM CDT
as a regular downloader i appreciate the casts, its great to hear the oldies and be exposed to some more recent bands. i have yet to listen to a bad one yet! now that i am living in londres it is much easier to access the music i love, but back in cape town the podcasts were a source of much needed merriness for me.
my i-tunes program is fokked at the moment so can't download the latest one's, is there anyway i can download a podcast without i tunes?
