KELP Performs At UCSB Beach Event!

  The campus at UCSB in Santa Barbara, CA is by far the most beautiful campus setting in the world. Of course, I can only compare it to the college I went to in Brookings, SD ...home of the fighting Jackrabbits. Last night Kelp was asked to play an event at a beach called Depressions - great surf spot that is on the UCSB campus. We loaded our gear on to a 20' flatbed truck which was then driven to the beach. The students made a bonfire on the beach as we set up on the truck and plugged in to the generators. The crowd was small but the setting was beautiful. There is nothing like playing surf rock while staring out at the ocean as the waves break on the sand. We played into the dark as the sun set. My daughters, Tori - 6 and Keilana - 20 months, were dancing in front of the "stage", collecting sea shells and eating way too many smores. Next show on our schedule is Memorial Day weekend in Hermosa Beach at Suzy's. Joining us are the Detonators, The Black Widows and more! Spend a Sunday afternoon with us listening to music and drinking beer. Aloha!
