Sorry, I'm a bit late on this but wanted to reply... check the Zines & Radio Shows group here (which is for podcasts, too). Even some of the regular radio shows are posted online in podcast/MP3 format so you can download episodes. Lots of great ones to hear! Have fun.

We're really excited to be coming to Austin (our first time). Now, all we need to do is secure a clean floor to sleep on and we'll be all set...
March 1, 2008 10:04 PM CST
Really love your stuff. I'll be sure to check you out. Any word on what house party you'll be playing Friday?
February 29, 2008 8:50 PM CST
Hey!
We (Mondo Topless) are playing SXSW for the first time. We're doing a Get Hip showcase on Saturday at Soho Lounge. It'll be with The Stems(!!!), The Cynics, The Ugly Beats, Paul Collins Beat, The Mullens and Breakup Society.
We're also doing a show Friday night at the Austin Beast House (above Emo's) and a house party earlier on Friday. We might also be doing Cheapo Discs on Sunday, but I'm not sure about that one.
Sam :)

Hahaha, it still needs a little work on it. At the moment it has been stripped of all the electronics. They're off to the USA for some servicing. Not looking much of a companion at the moment!
March 4, 2008 9:08 AM CST
No problem.
I hope you're Starstream is a faithful companion for years to come.

Hi Dan
Thanks very much for your kind response, but I kinda gave up and sold the guitar.
Kind regards
Chris

Hey Chris... If you're still looking for a pick up I've got a Vox Spitfire that I've been cannibalizing for parts. If you think it's the right style/size, lemme know and it's yours. Here's a link to a photo... http://www.voxshowroom.com/us/guitar/spitfire.html

Just arrived yesterday! Our new "instrumental EP" 7" is ready to go! Featuring five songs and linear notes by Don Craine! We released this one on our own label, Wee Rock Records (www.weerockrecords.com) for the first time since 2003! Go to the website to order it! Or soon get it through Get Hip, Soundflat and a few other labels that we trade with! I hope this was the correct place to put this!

i forgot W.A.S.P! with songs like Animal (Fuck Like A Beast), Harder Faster, 95-N.A.S.T.Y, Sex Drive, On Your Knees, Don't Cry (Just Suck) & the list goes on. they get a 9 out of 10 on the sleeze ball meter!!!
March 3, 2008 5:46 PM CST
i just saw nashville pussy open for rev horton heat and hank III. good show and definatly sleezy. i give 'em a 7 out of 10 on the sleeze ball meter.
March 2, 2008 10:56 PM CST
Nashville Pussy. Their shows generally go off, and it is very much "in your face rock and roll".

One word.The Fugs
March 2, 2008 11:32 AM CST
i've only heard a couple of songs by the pagans. i did like what i heard tho. i sould check 'em more of there stuff out.
March 2, 2008 11:29 AM CST
rev definatly has a nice touch of sleeze. love them. i also like jackrabbit slim. he's got an album called 'sleezabilly rebel'
then there's a cute song by kiss called 'nothing to loose'. a nice little ditty about going the back door route. "she didn't want to, but she did anyway". i love that line. classic! kiss was definatly sleezy back in the 70's. what about the godfather of punk iggy??? raw power. awesome.
March 2, 2008 9:52 AM CST
If you like the Dead Boys, you may like the Pagans, too. Their tunes "Nowhere To Run" and "Give Til It Hurts" are awesome!! http://shorl.com/bituhopraprydri

The sleaziest has to be Andre Williams, songs like Jailbait, Pussy Stank, Let Me Put It in, in fact the entire Silky album which has to be the sleaziest dirtiest piece of rock I own.
Some of the Reverend Horton Heats material has a very nice sleaze factor, have a quick listen to Wiggle Stick, Big Red Rocket of Love, and Love Whip and you'll get the idea.
March 1, 2008 11:09 PM CST
i'm trying to find out some of your opinions of your top sleeze rock acts. it's doesn't have to be a paticular genre, just sex drugs and rock-n-roll rock!!
me for starters, i like:
the dead boys (a band that gets over looked alot)
the cramps (nuff said)
and l.a. guns (i know the get put into that "pop metal" genre but they are from that. straight foward in your face hard rock!)
i know it's all over the place, but i try not to stereo type music(except pop). if it's good, it's good. pop is generally not good.

Thanks to all who showed up Sunday March 2nd for Gregor's Memorial here in Seattle. It was a good one. Stories were shared (and some incredible footage of the Telepaths playing live!), old connections (and some new ones) were re-setablished. It was a real gathering of the Old School Seattle Punk scene (one I was too young to be involved in!) I felt Honored and Privileged to have been in the company with many of these folks. I hope Gregor will be remembered well.
