UHHHHHHH, I posted this forum when the record came out, you all should have figured out by now that 200 Million Thousand is the shit. They make horrible music videos, and Short Fuse is a pretty gay song, but whatever.

Blow the dust off and give them the light of day! We can only hope. And holy shit, I never expect anyone to read this stuff. Hi Rod! Rockin Rod Strychnine said:
Well thank goodness, it was everything before they started recording for Colombia Records (in the UK) and not afterwards.
Now if he'd get started on those box sets. Did anybody read the articles in last Springs' Ugly Things? There's over 60 unreleased masters AND HE OWNS THEM!
I was using an older version of limewire with a garagepunk.com chatroom but, I got a new computer and can't find out what version I was using. Anyone help out with this or let me know of a decent file sharing program where I can find underground punkrock and garagepunk?
Thank you.
The GaragePunk Podcast Network Wikipedia page is still marked for deletion if certain criteria aren't met. What can we do to prevent this from happening once and for all?! I never realized that Wikipedia was so heavy-handed - especially in light of the garbage that they allow on there with no trouble.
YAYAH! And what a return it was!
Almost any Spike Jones, especially his versions of You Always Hurt the One You Love and Chloe. A lot of Killed By Death punk: Tapeworm - Blues for an Insurance Salesman, Tampax - UFO Dictator, Pink Dirt - Hooker.
A Whole BUNCH of Ween songs. Like Pollo Asado and Mister Would You Please Help My Pony
Thanks.. I have heard River City Tanlines and Lost Sounds but not Mouse Rocket. Thanks!
Hi Rinjo,
I saw this question posed on twitter the other day and thought I would help you out with the info since I have it. The mystery girl on Mama Don't Get Off is Alicja Trout. If you are unfamiliar with her work you should check out River City Tanlines and Mouserocket. She kicks ass.
The whole "interweb" can hide what should be some easily obtainable facts. Anyone know who sings the female lead on this song on Jack Oblivian's So Low?
You sound great! "Decide it yourself" for realz, hahaha now that's something I can relate to. Have you seen the RECORD REVIEWS GROUP (CLICK CLICK) on here? I guess some a those guys are open to new sounds - not that I know for sure or can speak for them. There's also a ZINE AND RADIOSHOWS (CLICK CLICK) group so maybe that's something as well. Sorry if I'm leading you to wells you already dried out, but I hope you can find something helpful there. Lastly I could draw you a flyer, or something like that if my crackety-crickle hand is suffice for your cause. I'd do so in exchange for some of your records which I would spread among the Recordheads around me. Just PM me if that sounds sweet to you and we'll talk details OK?
Derek.. any press is good press (Blogs, micro-zines, etc). Their are tons of blogs and they are mostly out there "to validate" the opinions people already have about a certain style of music. I would send out what you have above to every blog/ website your band and you like. Don't worry about the fit because 90% of people that write about "new bands" is because they like them. 15% might slag something to keep their reviews on the site balanced. The other 5% are just crazy. Tony Cox, an artist from England, sent out a ton of e-mails himself and his album Unreleased showed up everywhere for a good couple of months.
Also, i would suggest sending reviewers Digital Assets (mp3's, jpeg's, etc.) and not physical copies of albums. People demanding physical product are mostly looking for the shiny album, cd, 7 inch etc.
Hope my "minor league" advice helps.
If you do, I need to know. My blues trash / punk blues trance or whatever you want to call it band The Aces have our debut record coming out on El Toro Records in Oct (Europe) and Nov (USA) As DIY artists (decide it yourself) we have zero budget for a publicist so I'm looking to you to help. If you write blogs or record reviews for good publications or know someone who does please shoot me an email @ derekirving1@gmail.com - I will contact you/them to see if there is a fit. www.acesfan.com www.drop.io/theaces <-- get your pre-listen to the record before it's out Any help would be greatly appreciated ! It's too late to fall in love with Sharon Tate.
It seems to me that this could be a pretty lucrative business to open, especially with how CDs aren't selling anymore and more and more bands and labels (even majors) are turning back to pressing vinyl, not to mention the fact that there are very few pressing plants anymore (none in all of Canada? That's insane). I wonder how hard it would be to open a little pressing shop...?

Since I have moved from the U.S. to Canada pressing records has become quite a bit more expensive. There are no pressing plants in Canada. Now I have to pay extra shipping and duty tax. Very aggravating. I barely break even and even lose money from time to time. Obviously I am not in it to make money, but I sure don't like losing it.
I've heard rumor of a plant opening in Montreal. I hope this happens.
