    • I kinda was thinking over the past couple of weeks that I was a little hasty on Buddy Holly being a power pop originator, cuz when you think about it, some songs, Rave On, Maybe Baby, It's So Easy, Everyday, Think It Over, have the melodies that most songs of the era didn't have and could easily be done by power pop bands of today and the last thirty years. Didn't The Real Kids do a cover of Rave On?

    • Both great sounding organs...Continental is a classic...but the Yamaha Yc series are some underated garage jems. Yamaha's can still be had for next to nothing, so I'm a Yamaha man.

What is amazing is that this list is so vast and barely any duplicates! Except for the hands down agreement that John Entwhistle needs to be represented! I am compiling all my lists and will post again for a pick of the top 40 from that! And thanks everyone for not being snobby about this! I know this can easily be that type of topic! You all just made it a great discussion!

    • hello,

a couple years ago, maybe, heard on a GaragePunk Podcast show a cover of VU's "Guess I'm Falling In Love"... I can't find it anywhere now. Anyone have a clue about that cover? It was a version with lyrics.

      thanks in advance...

    • The Clash are Alternative. They headlined the US Festival on New Wave Day. Should I Stay or Should I Go was to the 80s what Smells Like Teen Spirit was to the 90s.

    • That's what smells the most from those turds. The --Too bad some of ya gotta die but really were a village here, damn it Barry Manillo and ABBA sold alot of records and people drove to work every day listening to them on the radio. How about 100 real rockers putting out a song, or a statement against the maddness, you tube viral video just waiting to puck blood on their esteemed beautiful persons. Rockin Rod Strychnine said:

Anybody know how many times they've been nominated and turned down? Just curious. Would've been nice to see them get in during Ron Ashton's lifetime.
