Total hilarity and only time i ever saw people in the crowd gobbing at a band cause the band asked for it! And that was in boring London Ontario Canada....bring on some more Anti Nowhere League!!!

The song IS funny but I don't think it's ridiculous. Maybe it's ridiculous to think that's autobigraphical or something. I noticed while listening to the song that Metallica did a version so I had to hear that. Makes Metallica sound like the Mono Men for a sec there.

      bio:
Rock, punk, whatever. It's aggressive, it's fast, it's in your face. Influenced by anyone who's screamed into a mic or ripped a guitar solo in the last 30 years, The Experiments have seen and done it all. Veterans of the SoCal scene, they've played in NYC, L.A. and everywhere in between.

Formed in 1994 in San Diego, The Experiments have released 4 full length albums and 1 EP.  Their latest, "What Kind Of Animal?" was release in May, 2010, and was a complete DIY project.  It was recorded, engineered and mixed by the band, and has been released for free under the Creative Commons license.

      The Experiments are:

      Dan Bonn: Vocals, Guitar
      Andy Guyette: Vocals, Guitar
      Brian Chase: Drums, Vocals

    • The Electric Eels, Rocket From the Tombs, Pagans, Dead Boys, the Mirrors, Pere Ubu, etc.

This was a great scene (esp. the '70s proto-punk stuff), and it's documented really well on this site: www.clepunk.com

What's your favorite ClePunk record? "Young, Loud & Snotty" is pretty hard to beat!

    • I agree with Rod. Rollins really ruined that band. Early stuff is great, though! Timeless.

    • You're gonna have to write the hosts. Google is of no help at all. They listed Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, and a group called Serious Drinking and some guy named Shihad. But none of them match what you're looking for.

Still haven't discovered the cover band.
      Tough one.

For a cheap and cheerful good sounding fuzz I use a Danelectro french toast, .

I used to used a Dan Electreau Grilled Cheese but then I switched to this:

I like being able to control the amount of cheese to bread to signal ratio.
HaHaHaHa!! Can't wait! .. to test drive this ONE!!

    • I recently purchased a Baja Custom Tone Bender. It's based on the early model type Tone Benders but with additional extras such as a 9v boss style jack & a kill control, which I'm thinking is the bias control, so you can nail that early 60's splatty maestro/drained battery/sliced cone type tone. Unfortunately it's still in transit :(. I've had a few fuzz pedals over the years, I seem to go back to my NYC Big Muff quite a lot, works well on most guitar amps and it's great fun to play slide with and nail that early Jack White tone.

    • oh my ... so many good-ones within that timeframe ... here's some of my favourites: "Pink Flag" (LP) 1977 - by the WIRE "Realities of War" (EP) 1980 - by Discharge "Inside My Brain" (LP) 1980 - by the Angry Samoans and of course, there's plenty more ... a year later (1981) came out some of the greatest stuff of bands like the Minor Threat, Black Flag, ...

    • Though not a popular choice these days, but I still enjoy Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols as well as the first Clash album (actually I like both UK and US versions) and the first 3 Ramones albums. Road To Ruin is OK but not really one of my favorites.

    • The Ramones Pleasant Dreams is '81 but it's definately one of my faves!

    • I'm currently switching between a 65RI Fender Twin Reverb & Hot Rod Deville. I use a Blues Junior for mostly home use. The Deville has a pretty sweet clean and the gain channel is decent, reverb is very sturdy too. I find my Twin takes pedals a lot better then the Deville, I've used a fuzz face reissue through all three and it sounds like a completely different beast through the Twin. I always prefered the NYC Big Muff but after plugging in that fuzz face holy shit. Obviously the Twin has the better reverb and the tremelo is nice but honestly, I don't think the cleans are THAT much better. Not for the price anyway. Luckily I got mine cheap and only ended up paying $500AUD more for the Twin. I'm contemplating buying a AC15/AC30 though for that invasion/60's garage type sound. Then I might buy a bassman, man you can never have too many amps !

    • Sorry, but I kind of gave up on being the Paul Revere of my generation (running through the streets yelling what to look out for), since I could barely convert anybody. My only outlet these days is telling people on myspace since chances are friends there have similar tastes.

    • I was once referred to as the "party killer" because I would always try and get people to listen to mix cds and crap I would bring... usually against a lot of protest.

I don't have that problem anymore because I don't have any friends!
