    • Understandable. I didn't think about asking him that either when I met him. A few of our friends that we had in common stopped by the record shop where he was doing the book signing and everybody was talking about old times and what not. I don't belong to the chat board that's on the real punk radio website so I couldn't do anything about it. BUT since he's on facebook, I guess I can ask him myself. I was just a bit surprised though, since nobody has ever used that term before.

    • My apologies if this has already been discussed (did a search, though, and couldn't find anything). Is anyone else using Last.fm?

    • I'm at work right now, but if I remember correctly, mine is an SL-1200 MK2. They're all pretty similar, though. Just search eBay for Technics 1200 and you should find all kinds. Ryan Katastrophe bought this baby a few years ago. Yeah, they're expensive new (which is why I recommend buying a used one on eBay)! And for a stylus, get a Stanton 500 E MK II from Garage-A-Records online. Foul & Fair Records said:

Noted! looking up the 1200 there seems to be a lot postfixed letters/#'s, which model is the one for me?

You can't go wrong with a Technics 1200, or check out the Vestax Guber, a very cool little turntable. The Guber is belt-driven though so if you plan on DJing it's not he way to go.

    • But with either one, it will take at least two months before you see any loot. iTunes and Amazon take 6 to 8 weeks to report sales figures, apparently. With the new Malarians (the US garage band, not the Spanish ska band) reissues, I used Tunecore for IN THE COOL ROOM and CD Baby for KNOW/FINISHED IN THIS TOWN. The jury's out on which one is better, but with Tunecore, you get Amazon CD-on-Demand, where fans can get CDs of your mp3 album.

    • If you want to do this, use TuneCore. They're great, relatively inexpensive, and they'll get your music on all of the main music retail sites. By the way, there's a topic about offering digital downloads on the Labels & Distros group, too (just an FYI).

    • CD Baby is good for CDs. It has a program to get your albums onto iTunes, Amazon and other download services. When I joined a few years ago it only cost $30-$35 to get you set up. I just have one CD (recorded in the early 80s) and I've made dozens of dollars. http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/terrell
