This is a great discussion by the way. I was reading in my local paper (for Vashon, WA) that they cancelled the high school prom due to low ticket sales. Why low ticket sales? Because the school banned grinding, which isn't even dancing as far as I'm concerened. I can't understand how it is that kids can't learn real dancing, even Washington DC go go styles. I'm starting to think that watching Shindig and Hullabaloo should be a school requirement.

Cool. I never seem to find anything like that when I'm searching for Go Go stuff. I did think though that you're supposed to put one hand over the eye when you do a Sammy Davis.

Most guys would find me crazy but I think 60s dancing just looks sexier than what passes on TV and movies today. Feet together, knees close together. But that's me.

We're looking at getting a bass amp to go with our 'quiet' garage/powerpop combo. The cheaper the better. After combing the net I still can't totally get my head around the wattage required for our needs - it looks like 100 is best but if I can get away with less please let me know.

Our drums are a cocktail kit - so very quiet compared to a normal kit and the guitar is through a 5w Valve through a 12" speaker - cranked and fuzzed it is a good match for the drums. The bass is an old soviet plank with weak pickups - probably will run it through a bass big muff.
Would 50W bass amp be too little for this situation?

Joe Strummer was really good in Mystery Train though, especially love the scene where he shoots Rockets Redglare in the liquor store.

Sometimes it comes out on eBay. If you want the easy way, get the A-Bones Cd compilation "Daddy wants a cold beer". Go Go dancers are getting pretty popular at the Continental Club in Austin, TX (there is one gal there that has super groove) and Freddie Steady Krc has a rockin' gal "Dangerous Dana" who really adds some serious energy to his shows and is authentic in dress and dance. All that said there was a dancer at the last Sons of Hercules show who was super foxy looking but couldn't dance - it was like she came from a strip club and only knew how to bend and shake - no art in that : (

Dont really Know what is rarer:....my friend had a copy of Fire on a 45.... Atlantic,......I've had 2 copys of the Clown-star album...... both were cut-outs & both were on Track...

I can't tell you how much Arthur Brown and that first album mean to me...THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN was one of the first 10 albums I ever bought as a kid. There was an article with great color pics of Arthur live in EYE magazine and the cool colorful cover of the LP and that was all my adolescent mind needed to invest my saved lunch money in what has to be the most psychedelic 60's rock record with no guitar on it. Vincent Crane was amazing and the weird strings and horns that pop in occasionally are really cool. Anybody else hear the rumor that Pete Townsend played the bass in a last minute time crunch? And does anybody else think that Deep Purple's Ian Gillian kinda ripped off Arthur's distintive screamin' technique? Which is rarer...the Atlantic issues or the Track issues?

The Hasil Adkins documentary, was that ever released? Hell, was it even ever finished?
