Given the area I live in, we didn't get a lot of "cool" albums, so I have to go with what was available to me at the time..First I would have to go with Devo's "Q: Are We Not Men A: We Are Devo!", then the B-52's self-titled debut LP...I loved the Clash's 1st album, and I can't forget the Fleshtones' "Blast Off" cassette only release on ROIR...I also loved the B-52's second release "Wild Planet", but sadly, in my opinion, they kept deviating from their original formula of "surfy" party music...If I wanted to delve into a cheesy level, I still love the Vapors' "Turning Japanese"...Of course the Ramones was churning out gold then, too....And yes, I loved the Sex Pistols' album (You know the one)...

We have this Danelectro Reel Echo (http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Danelectro-Reel-Echo-Tape-Simulator-Pedal?sku=151903) and we like it a lot! You may hear it on your EP, it isn't Twin Reverb's sound but it gives you a good slap back tone.

I will probably buy the slap echo,because i got some more money in from my grandmother.

After one year of consideration, and a lot of pedals tried, i decided to buy the Boss frv.I wanted a spring reverb.I would like a lot to buy a tank,but that's just not possible.So i bought the pedal wich supposed to be the mini-tank(digital of course).It works pretty good for me.The only thing left to do ,and then i'll be able to have a complete opinion on it, is to gig with it.

Danelectro has made several delays. I'm betting the "slap echo" is the Dan Echo. Just from a brief internet scan it looks like the delay time on the Fab Echo isn't adjustable and is fixed at slap back. Scan some youtube videos and if you like what you hear then that's what you'll be getting.

Hello, last year a big Italian band, that i can't say what kind of music they played, came to my city. The guitarist had a tele and a fender twin reverb. His sound was really clean. The band consisted of many instruments so you hardly noticed the guitar. But his sound was very surf-like. I asked him at the end of the gig if he could suggest for me a good pedal. He told me that the best i can buy was an echo pedal, the danelectro slap echo. And he told me it was really cheap. Now that it's christmas i decided to buy it. But since i just bought a reverb pedal i don't have much money left. Then i found danelectro fab echo which costs half as much as the slap echo. Is it any good or should i buy slap echo?

I use a Moog Theremin too and it's pretty "cheap" and cool...not cool as Mr Spencer's one though !

If you want hear it, check what The screamin' Soul Preacher from THE HOUSE OF WILD DELIGHTS podcast, aka the Twisted European Theremin Maestro, can do with it : pure space lasciviousness  !

I would suggest running through a small amp and then micing it. It doesn't have to be a small tube amp, solid state will do just fine. If it's small it will probably distort anyway even without built in distortion. That's been my experience.  I would suggest finding a way to split the signal (perhaps a small cheap mixer or a guitar pedal with two outputs) and then run a clean signal to the PA or tape recorder, computer, etc. that way you can blend the signal to taste.

Old harp mics look pretty promising too. I've used them before but you may have to try them individually to see how distorted they are. I'm guessing it varies.

I'm a little skeptical of any "mojo" that anyone ascribes to small, cheap tube preamps because I think all of them are "starved plate voltage" designs. Which means there's nothing about them that's similar to any preamps of the sixties. However, that doesn't mean they couldn't be used as an effect if you like the sound of them. The end result is the only thing that matters.

I listen to them on my PC at work, My Phone when driving. I broadcast from my Ipod to my DAB radio when I'm cooking, I pump them directely through the stereo when my wifes away (I Hope The Neighbours Keep Quiet about That) and a cheap portable MP3 player while I am at the gym. All I need now are a few more hours in the day.
