they are just about the best thing rocking the planet mate. Saw them in manchester last year in a small venue, they were poorly lit and (according to some who stayed at the back(?) the sound was crap. Bollocks to 'em they blew the roof off my head...and they feed (back) off of distortion.
they're playing a bigger venue this Sunday, but I'm too damn broke to go see 'em, shit sucks, but I'm glad if they're making more money now coz they should be ELEVATED ON HIGH BY ALL. they looked damn cool too, pulling those MC5 dual guitar raise 'em up moves.
Peace and Noise
No you are right. Jim was the singer in Thee Hypnotics. It was around 22 years ago. We were on the same label when I was in The Fuzztones & we did gigs together in around 89-90.

I saw JJR live recently in Zürich it was a great gig. At the gig i realised i remembered two of the guys in the band from the from the old Alice in Wonderland/Gossips days in London as Thee Hypnotics, am i wrong or was that 25 years ago LOL!
Great to see that are doing so well, playing big shows with the Stooges must be a dream come true :)
Saw the Jim Jones Revue last night in my hometown of Bristol UK, what can i say, quite possibly one of the best gigs i have ever seen, full in your face unashamed rock n roll, a tremendous wall of sound, at times like Nine Below Zero on crack at others like Little Richard with a piledriver!

I'm attaching the printable CD insert here for you guys for Vol. 1. This has a song list on the back side, so when you fold it and insert it into one of those slimline jewel cases, you'll have a track listing.
Hey, another thing you could do---print on heavier paper, like card stock, fold it over, trim the right side of the cover, but leave tabs on one side of the top & bottom, fold them in and glue to the other side, and you have a paper sleeve, no jewel case required. Don't forget to landscape!

Yeah man, looks great. Lil' tip--you gotta change to landscape in your printer preferences, or it'll be too small.

Ha! I thought that name looked familiar.
BTW, do yourself a favor and go see Dick Dale the next chance you get. Trust me, it'll rock.
Also, I love how the comp is only $6.99 on Amazon. Talk about "budget rock"!!

That were me, sorry surf is cool but it doesn't make me rock.

So far the only review on Amazon is a positive one, but this comment is a bit strange:
There is a surf song on here but the majority of this comp is pretty rockin.
Like a surf song can't be rockin'? Er, OK... I kinda wish we had MORE surf bands submitting tracks! But, whatever.
Anyone else want to write a review of it?

Am listening to the comp right now. Thanks to Kopper and everyone else involved in this (so far) excellent compilation - as if it would be anything but.
Thanx for putting all of the effort into this comp Kopper! It Fucking Rocks!!! It'll be getting lots of airplay on Radio What Wave!!

Which link is locking up your computer? I am not going to post direct links here because I only want these downloadable for free for members. Make sense?

Little Steven only got richer off his early move on "garage rock". I have nothing against the guy, I think he's done a lot for that slice of the musical universe (plus he played one of my favorite characters from The Sopranos).
Kopper, you should try to become his protoge and cash-in by riding his coat-tails. I'm not saying you should "sell-out" or go commercial (as I'm sure a lot of haters will accuse you of that, if it were to happen), but you could partner with him and do the "garage rock universe" a service by providing your perspective, and the garagepunk.com perspective, to the masses.
Haha, yeah, now there's quite a huge army of bands in the pool that contribute to this. I mean would you have thought that there was no less than SIX (!) comps to be filled with awesome Rock'N'Roll? That a LOT! And all in six months - we are spoiled.
I'm kicking myself that it took me five years to think to do something like this! Guess I've got Little Steven to thank for that, huh? ;)
Man, I would love to have made that! Hell, I never even heard of FuzzFest before! I'm sure there were offshoots, like there's offshoots of other fests...I think Sleazefest was inspired by one in Athens, GA that I think was called Trashfest (not sure), but you can see the roots of it in the Sleazefest documentary...

Speaking of old garage fests, does anyone remember the FuzzFests? I think this was the first one:

How many of those were there? And weren't there other FuzzFest offshoots in other towns later on, like in the '90s and early '00s?

I like to write words when i already have music to the song that i'm working on. then you can write stuff that fits in the music, rather than starting with a poem or phrases and forcing them to fit the music. i usually playback the music and babble into the mic, recording the babble if possible. then I listen back to the music and low level babble together, and somehow I start hearing words and rhythms out of the mush. If i get a few lines, then I can usually start a weird story out of it... Using a rhyme dictionary is also helpful, plenty online sites offering that service. and... I do suggest a bit drugs and alcohol, helps slip out of your skin so you don't get too sappy or bitter, or more sappy and more bitter... :)
I heard that Dave will play with Ray but not Mick Avory. Maybe Dave and Ray could play together with Kenny Jones and John Dalton or Andy Pyle.
This is a 'Social Network', right?

I just think people are way too worried if something is "punk" or not. Who fuckin' cares? Life's too short to worry about stupid shit like that. Just enjoy the music for what it is.
Yeah, this is great stuff that I've never heard before. I'd also love to hear the first volume if anyone can find it...
They aren't two volumes of the same compilation, but two separate records in the same series, so they weren't a package deal. I imagine the first volume is equally hard to find.
Thanks! But what about the first volume?
