WASTE !

I hate robots, machines, djs with laptops...

I'm an old fashioned guy. I love vinyls (especially 7"), don't bother counting anything, not even the empty glasses on my side, and like it warm, real and live. In one word : HUMAN !

I don't think you need to count BPMs to keep it wild'n'kickin' ! And I believe that's the only thing Rock'n'Roll DJs need to be ! WILD'N'KICKIN' !!!

Do you bother counting them, or is that a waste with us rock and rollers?  You do it the old fashioned way, or do you let a robot count for you?  Have you found it to be worth the effort?

Ahah ! Call me lucky Preacher, boy !

...Or pity me for wasting most of my life searching, watching and digging for great BUT cheap records !

And yes : The Invictas rule !!!

It's a better album than the last one... But not as good as Good Bad, Not Evil.
If the songs are 'poppier', it's not because of the production it's because of the songs.
A solid album though... At least they always seem to do what they want.
Oh and i'm not really a big fan of their earlier stuff [SHOCK! HORROR!!]

To be honest I would say Mark Ronson is the reason why Whinehouse doesn't suck more. No disrespecting your taste in music but she can't sing where as this guy is a talented musician. Valerie was a crappy cover not because the music sucked, I like the Zutons version more but Ronson didn't ruin it, her vocals did.

I just heard Get out and Get it and a couple of others. Hmm, they aren't hurting anyone but there are enough better bands on this site alone for me to concern myself with.

I'm holding out for their cover of "Rehab"

( Ok, I also have to admit that I don't leave as many comments as I wish...blame it on my own lazyness, lack of time or some kind of "what I could say" state of mind...)

Well, Mike, it helps if we do get feedback, but honestly, listeners aren't obligated to give us any. Period. Hell, as long as people actually listen to the podcasts, that's good enough. And we know Hideout members are checking out the shows, we just may not know if they liked them or not. I guess no news is good news, but I guess comments are one of those little rewards we like to get out of podcasting, so we know we're rocking you guys...

Wow, I never thought about it like that; that podcasters needed feedback to feel like their shows were loved. I can't imagine that there is any podcast on this show that is not enjoyed be a decent sized group of people. Whenever I have a day off I put on the latest podcasts and listen to them one after another for hours. Thanks to those things I have a few songs I've had on my ipod since I got it as a b'day pressent in February.

I hear what you're saying Zorch, because I love ANY feedback I get, and I hate to admit it, but if I don't get it immediately, I start to think that my show sucks! What Kopper said is true, with the reality being that a lot of people listen, but they just don't feel the need to let us know they are. It seemed like it was taking longer for listeners to comment on my show posts, and some Hideout members that had posted before, weren't doing that anymore it seemed. Slightly worried, I sent out an email to various members asking if they still listened to the show, and if they didn't, what could I do to get them back. Honestly, I haven't heard back from most of them, but the ones I did hear back from, told me they still loved the show, they just didn't always comment.

It can be REALLY disheartening to plan and promote a particularly fantastic episode and get NO feedback, but my generation and younger is awfully shy to direct/verbal communication for some reason. They're passive, but they're listening.  Still weirds me out!

... The SONICS (1st Garage band ever)

From everything I ever heard from any 80s garage band the Chesterfield Kings gotta be the best that put out the most solid albums. Its impressive to me that the CFKings could nail the sound of the best 60s bands as well as they did. Check out the Steppes Harps and Hammers LP. Of course theres quite a few cool bands, but I think a long list would just add to the confusion. Don't overlook the Gruesomes.

I really enjoy 'She'll Hurt You in the End", which includes two of my personal favorites- the Actioneers and Chevrons V

My last DJ gig was an all day fest (10 hours) in between bands.   I didn't have monitors other than my headphones so I had no idea when the sound guys had turned me off (for soundchecks and junk). They had me set up on a bouncy-ass, plywood stage, which was the same stage that bands were loading their gear onto!  Didn't get paid and the booker/promoter didn't even provide a single drink ticket. I feel you on this one, Kopper.

Motor Drive has got a girl talking and it looks like they only have recordings from Thursdays.  Are there recordings of your show?

HAHAHAHA!  True, gotta take what you can get.

I do agree boy but, unfortunately, you sometimes have to deal with what you got...

I mean : when you're looking like the creature of Frankenstein, you're a total misfit, a stupid jerk, a troglodyte, a potential (?) serial killer no-one dares to approach, a bloody asshole sweating beer and gin, solo-sex is still better than no sex at all ! Believe my own experience ! ;)
