Did this get a go ahead ? I could be very well interested. Very much into my (especially Melbourne & Sydney) local garagepunk/trash scene. I could easily manage 6+ podcasts a year. Lots of spare time on my hands.

Guitars, amps, and pedals make tone, with the amp probably having the biggest direct effect, if you ask me. The guitar is the part that most directly interacts with the thong that mst affects the musicality of what you are playing, that is, your hands. If it feels good do it, I say. The guitar is wood and plastic and metal and electronics, find whatever speaks to you and get it to play and feel right, tweak pickups as needed to get the right interaction with the amp, and don't look back.
Myfav guitar is a 335 knockoff I paid 120 for shipped across the country, it now has new pickups , frets tuners and bridge and sounds, plays and looks amazing ( to me). Doing that work over years made me realize how much I like that process and I am about to start building my first guitar from raw wood. I also have a strat, LP, had SGs (standard and classic with p90s), and each has it's place.
What does all this mean? Mainly that I need to stop messing with gear and play more.

Haven't had a chance to listen, but I had a similiar, experience with a song in a bar that Shazam identified as Talkin bout you by the animals, labeled as from the album best of the animals. Great song
well, the lyres sound p. good
The Remains is a good choice, if it wasn't 60's I would have said The Lyres. I have heard them do that live and it sounds similiar. Both bands are from Boston, coincidence, who knows.
It definitely isn't yardbirds.
I had a listen thinking it might have been The Remains version of Talkin' bout you but I don't think it is...sounds like a great place though!!
One more..? 2001 The Havox - 'Here Catch' album. Great cover of 'Willie the Wild One', well I think so!?
what have the white stripes done "wrong"?
Check out my baand Gun. We're based out of Northwest Indiana.
Here are some tracks from two of our releases.
ENJOY.
Got to add to the love for The Bonnevilles , sound awesome live 'Alabama Train' a cover brilliant and great guys too, chatted to Chris the drummer at a gig in Hastings (well there was only a few of us there so he had to talk to someone), he knows his music and can play up a driving rhythm. They even added a short video I did to the opening track on their album on their facebook page! http://youtu.be/0VoZ5-nm5xY
Try Guadalupe Plata @ http://guadalupeplata.bandcamp.com plus a bit of early Five Horse Johnson goes down well occasionally.
Agree with The Speaking Tongues mention, 'Goin' back to Memphis' is a great cover.
Is there any way to get a hold of this again? It looks so good!
Works on Blackberry too!
Doesn't work on my dumbphone. :(
Thanks Mr. A.
I just downloaded to my iPhone and it works. You also can type in the names of individual podcasts (say ... "Big Enchilada" as just a random example) and that works too.
I'll try this in my car later.

If you haven't already got it, the Tunein Radio App for the iPhone/iPad is a must and it's FREE (also avaiable for Android phones).
Type GaragePunk into the search for shows and get ALL the GaragePunk Podcasts including YOU GOT GOOD TASTE streamed to you for FREE. So if you've forgotten to download the latest show or want to catch up on an old show you can, as long as you've got WiFi or 3G you'll never be far from the Garage!
It even works in the car, I know cos I've tried it!

I miss the Drowning Pool!
I have been wondering about these new services, too. It sounds like a great deal, but at the same time, I'm trying to save money and not have any more "bills" or "subscriptions" if I can help it. So, instead of paying a monthly fee, I keep using my external hard drives and the good old DVDs or CDr backup hard copies.
I know of a few other local people that own servers and charge a monthly or yearly fee for use. I know that is a great way to store or share whatever you want, and it is probably less than how much you'd pay for these other services.
Does anyone else have suggestions as to great ways to store/organize their cumbersome music libraries?
i heard all the standards surfin bird,96 tears, too much to dream last night,etc...when i was like 9-10 helping my stepdad restore his 67 camaro...loved oldies and stuff when i was little.then as a teenage skateboarder it was like punk rock, clash 7 seconds, bad brains, cramps, crass, gun club, and hip hop like public enemy, nwa.still a skater in my 20s,tastes were more aggressive like poison idea, los crudos, nausea and so on...one day the bass player from this raging punk band i played in brought home the mummies play their own records and that was it..soon after new bomb turks destroy oh boy turned me on to so much other shit.soon after nerdiness ensued.have to say those two.although surfin bird would probably be the earliest.or the cramps.
'How to Make a Monster' by The Cramps.
