That's a pretty tough and expensive collection. Any photos?

The Damned followed by the Ramones. Mostly because they both have released so many damned (get it?) records and 7" sleeve variations etc etc that sucker a collector nerd like me to buy. No picture of me, but a set a photos I'd snapped for another forum. I have to give credit though to an old friend who sold me his entire Damned 7" collection back in the 80's. I knew it hurt him, but he knew it was going to a good home. That's where a good chunk of my Damned and Capt. Sensible singles came from.
Guitar Wolf i guess...
I love this and all things Ty and Mikal.

Yeah I've wanted to check out their stuff, the S/T Moonhearts record is among my absolute favorites of the past couple years and Ty is already a legend.
This video is awesome, the Epsilon dudes doing a fake Laguna Beach episode:
Bringing things back on topic, doesn't qualify as Garage, but I've got about 150 releases/live boots from New Order. It's like 5 days worth of music. Granted it's all digital.
I love masked bands and bands in uniforms, etc..
My other band, Skurkarna, is a "instro-crime-rock" outfit.. this is what we look like:
..and this is what we sound like:

SQUARES BEWARE!
You've mentioned to me the Odd Squad before, that's why I brought up the Woggles after your Poseur comment. You DIDN"T say that there were exceptions to the dress up bands. The Woggles don't need uniforms, you're right. But I think Manfred feels it gives them an edge when it comes to what sticks out for people who have never seen them before. I can go either way on what a band does as long as they don't look like Dave matthews band or Hootie and the Blowfish ( I need to update my bad references).

Hey Rod,
The Woggles are so good, they are in a class of their own. I personally don't think they need the matching outfits. When I played in The Odd Squad (a side band I had with The Mighty Manfred) we did not wear matching outfits, and we tore the house down.

Unless you dress up like barbarians, Romans, or Tarzans

Don't get up on stage if you're just gunna wear your stupid cargo shorts & sandals with a backwards ball cap & play your stupid 6 string bass up high while reading charted music on a music stand.....there's A LOT of that shit here in nashville....yech!!! XD
What about the Woggles? Yeah, they have the chops to back it up but a lot of people remember the show from the uniforms and stunts they pull off.

HA! nope Not my up of tea. I;m not against theatre in Rock N Roll, after all I was a huge Alice Cooper fan when I was in High Schhol, IT's just the Matching outfit thing that makes me want to run away screaming POSUER!!!

Del Tigers - theme is circus performers
What's 80-96. Also kudos to adding Stolen Moments to this list as it's such an overlooked song. You're list looks like one I would have written (but we never did get around to playing these though because my band thought they were TOO well known).

If authenticity reigns supreme... the only cover a true garage band should undertake is Route 66 or Little Latin Lupe-lu, every band from the 60s hey day would have played these two songs in their set, no doubt about it.
Gloria is a standard that has stood the test of time too.

Great stuff! Indeed a fine, fine label, with a fantastic sound!
Jon Weiss posted a blog entry here recently mentioning he may revive the Cavestomp! festivals in NYC, too. We can just call those Hideoutstomps! Hey, this is easy, and fun!

Your absolutely right. The Ruhrgebiet is more Garage than Berlin! But what about Köln? Wait a sec, we could just rename the Soundflat Ballroom Bash as The GaragePunk Hideout Ballroom Bash. That would save a lot of money and hassle. Done. Who's going?

Couldn't we do it in Essen? Berlin gets all the glory, and I could help out on the beer stall.

Well, if it's kinda like make-believe I guess we would do one on each continent (or at least North America and Europe). I would organize the Euro side of things (after I received generous donations from GaragePunk Hideout members totaling 20,000 Euros). I would probably do it in northern Italy or Switzerland - Springtime or early summer starting in 2014 because of logistics! Or Autumn in Germany. Preferably Berlin! Can't wait!

What city would you have it take place?
Wow, good luck with that! I can't think of any specifically "garage" in nature... the only one that comes to mind is Devo's "Working in the Coalmine." Does that count?
Help me out here...
A strange genre. I invented the subsection myself after finding a 60's title about coal mining - Bill Neil and the Mark IV - A Coal Miners Prayer out of W.V. Anyone know of any other good rocking songs about coal mining?
This is one amongst a few others I've found about the perils of the miners life. These others are usually bluegrass/country but one a 70's psych tune by a unknown "garage" progrock band Pyramid - "Buffalo" on Studio 1, about a flash flood from a coal slurry reservoir killing many in 1972.
Want to compile an anti coal / mountain top removal list for political gain and health in the mountains of WV.
regards the threads topic I feel the same. Boring soft rock and lady gaga channels all over.
Exception http://www.radiorockroma.it/ a Italian station. Try at diverent times, I am sure you'll agree - even if not Garage specialized.
They have a cool DJ there, from the pre Gaga age, who knows about all the stories and things about bands. Mature guy, I appreciate his somewhat 'goolish explanations', because elaborate at times. For people who listen too. Great owl, I like him ;-)
Peace w/o dilutions.
yeah, somewhat true for me too. I mean, if I discover something new, a new thought, i am happy if a intelligent person tells me that my thought is original, innovative or hitting the point. If any number of silly guygals now came along to mindlessly repeat that approval w/o having understood a thing, that only killed the spirit of it.. Oh well, don't tell anybody ;-)

I like it the way it is - we got our music and they got theirs. I don't want any part of their world and I don't want to hear (place your favorite band here) on a commercial for cell phones, ipads, viagra or new cars. The first thing I think when I hear something that sneaks in is "Fuck, now every asshole in the world is gonna be in on this." I know, I know its immature, but fuck it.
Andre Williams may be not always the most frugile with his money is still working at age 76 not necessarily because he wants to, he has to. Great, yet sobering documentary done back in 2008 Agile, Mobile, Hostile. Check it out if you haven't already.
There are also stories of people like Bruce Springteen paying medical and living expenses for Mary Wells when she was battling oral cancer. The Rolling Stones paid to bury Howlin' Wolf's lead guitarist, Hubert Sumlin, I am sure there are more stories to count of this happening to musician we know and love. I think a lot how some of these people are getting by.
