Cool! Yeah, they included the demo of "touring" on the one uploaded above (the actual finished one with the keyboards was included on Rhino reissue too, i think). I remember a lot of stuff was on the More Unreleased Tracks bootleg, except "stares in this town" was called "Nothings gonna change you" or something like that.

 But until yesterday, I NEVER heard the demo for "sitting in my room" (which I think really works well as an opener), and I had no idea that "yeah yeah" was from this session either. When i first heard it on All the Stuff and More Volume 2, I figured it was a demo from the same era as "slug". 

I still love pleasant dreams the way it turned out, but, for sake of discussion:

- If "This Business is Killing me" was replaced with "yeah yeah"

- If "we want the airwaves" was replaced with "sleeping troubles"

- If' "9 to 5  world" was replaced with "kicks to try"

- and one of the ballads (Don't go, or 7-11..really only need one) was replaced with "stares in this town.

......combined with rawer production similar to the demo, Pleasant Dreams would've been a fucking monster.

That demo was floating around the internet a few years ago...i had it and it wound up getting deleted. There was a bunch more to it -- songs like "Touring" which didn't see the light of day til "Mondo Bizarro" in 1992 were on there.

.....I did have a couple of younger guys ask me , after an Iggy show in '88 , IF I WERE RON Asheton's son !  Anybody else have a funny story like that ? 

Jeff Liles , who booked Screamin' Jay in Dallas in '86 and '87 , stated , recently , that when Jay played at The Dallas Hard Rock Cafe (May all the world forget she ever stood) , the 2nd of those two shows , cops showed up , backstage to arrest Hawkins for non - payment of child support for the Mother of one of his kids , then residing in Dallas.Liles said that he persuaded the Officers to wait until after the show to arrest him , because there would have been a lot more trouble if there was no show. He was right about that. We were all primed....And I did wonder what was taking so long !  

There's a very good documentary about this , culminating in a reunion with all of Jay's then - known children. The only non - participants are his children from his first marriage , who refuse to believe Hawkins would have cheated on their Mother , or fathered other kids out of wedlock. It's very sad , because the others seem primed to celebrate that they all have Screamin' Jay Hawkins in common.   I'm not saying what's wrong or right , only my initial impression.

Many people are THAT uptight about something....It's not always about establishing a ranking order in the music "Scene". But , sure , there are men who , maybe , did'nt get into sports , but take that same mentality  into music . Trust me , they can be just as condescending to other males. The guitar stores are full of them , frustrated  guitar heroes who , maybe , are technically superior , but , they can't play in bands  because they're so egotistical (Or because contemporary tastes in music have passed them by.) and so devoid of ideas.....And , they would'nt know how to present their wankery as a solo (No pun intended) act.  But , I can readily imagine how some of these hard-ons treat women , even women who've already surpassed them as musicians.
