New and now bands I'm digging?  Two newish bands in Denver -- Thee Dang Dangs and The Blue Rider.  Also, first heard of Thee Outlets yesterday, and really like them...kinda wish they were on the bill for our Molotow show in a couple weeks.  Also digging Holy Wave outta Austin, but they're really a drone psych band, not so much garage.

Now-bands: Thee Vicars, Curlee Wurlee!, Bikes, The Routes, Mark Sultan (BBQ), Hex Dispensers, Thee Outlets, The Magnificient Brotherhood, The Skeptics, The Frowning Clouds, The Hollywood Sinners, Atomic Suplex, X-Ray Harpoons, King Automatic, Die ersten Menschen, The Jackets, The Parallèles... there are so many.

That actually may be the band. The vocals and way of singing are very similar.

The djs that played that night were king kosta, kid border, and joe travolta.

I contacted soulcat about a year ago, they messaged kid border, and he said that King Kosta was probably who played it but no one knew where he was...

I´m pretty sure the last two notes of the recording (two firsts of a new song) are yes the Sonics but "Have Love, Will Travel", not Psycho.

By the way, the song you´re looking for could be "Night of the Phantom" by The Gravedigger V. I believe to recognize Leighton Koizumi´s voice and the song is this one i guess, or very similar... but sounds like a live recording, not the original version.

Saw this performance of a one-off joke noise-garage band made up of of some members of a garage band I like called The Scramms and some artists, calling themselves "Good Food AKA Snack Party".

The bassist/singer put a Drumstick ice cream cone in the mic stand and made a sandwich....then started "playing" bass with the sandwich and bread crumbs were flying everywhere while he ate some ice cream and then passed the "mic" to the crowd... occasionally eating from his watermelon necklace....he had to make 3 sandwiches during the course of the 2 song performance, and the only barely audible lyrics seemed to be "I like food, let's eat some food, I eat it up, mmmmm food"

Drummer wore a pig mask and played with hot dogs...went through two packs.

Guitarist had a bowl of Doritos and would use one as a pick for like 2 seconds and then grab another...eventually grabbing a block of cheese and grating it on the strings.

Then they pulled a Totino pizza outta the oven and had a food fight with the crowd....

Now don't get me wrong, I hate noise-focused bands (it's just not my thing), and trust me, the "songs" they played were terrible, but I was laughing for all 3 minutes of their 2 song set and so were they.

This pic is from maybe 10 seconds into their set...by the end there was enough bread on the ground to feed all the pigeons in town.

It was kinda magical...just wanted to share.  I have some video if anyone wants to see it I can upload it on my page...I don't know, maybe it's not as funny if you weren't there.

Besides, the medal for trains is deserved to Johnny Cash, i´m sure... His discography is well filled with any kind of trains. Aside from LPs-titles like "All about the Blue Train" and "Ride this Train" he has many many songs telling about. As he said himself with the song "I´ve got a thing about Train", we can find title like: "Blue Train", "Train of Love", "Hey Hey Train", "Waiting for a Train", "The evening Train", "Come along and ride this Train", "This Train is Bound for Glory", "Down there by the Train", "Life is a Railway to Heaven", "Georgia on a fast Train", "Let the Train blow the Whistle" and i guess some more...
