What's funny is I keep seeing people joining the Hideout and they're putting on their profile that they heard about the site on Little Steven's show... wondering what the hell they were talking about, I've tried to follow up with them, sending them messages asking exactly what they meant by that, thinking that Little Steven might have actually mentioned GaragePunk.com or something, right. WRONG! Finally one of them responded, and he told me that he'd made a mistake, that he found the Hideout when he Googled for "Fuzztopia." WTF? Yep! Try it yourself. The second link that comes up is to this discussion about Fuzztopia. I dunno... *shrug* I thought that was kinda funny.

Hopefully past show will still be up? There's been times when I've been without the internet at home and haven't been able to listen and am only NOW trying to catch up. Also hopefully, it'll be metioned in Latest Activity when you upload? As I've actually not subscribed to anyone yet.

The main feed (the one with all the shows) is going away, as is the GaragePunk.com blog. The 'casts are moving over to the Hideout, but now you'll have to subscribe to each show individually.

Since they invented cd's, I've been getting into different styles of music.

Don't know if you'd call it obscure, but the Goodbye Babylon 6-cd boxset of fire & brimstone pre-war gospel is amazing - especially the sermons (over the songs).

Sublime Frequencies releases are on my list too, especially the Middle Eastern and African ones, and the frog song on the Singapore-A-Go-Go cd sounds like some Jamaican dub thing.

Speaking of Africa, for some reason, I really like Pekos/Yoro Diallo (which reminds me of Capt Beefheart) and Tinariwen, although some people say this stuff sounds like Santana.

I'm not a fan of "Tak Tak punk" or "myspace crust" which is where someone in Malaysia, or somewhere else on myspace, has heard Agnostic Front or whatever, and does a straight up imitation with nothing to add. Probably the internet's fault, right?

Not even Beatles stuff like "I Saw Her Standing There", or their versions of stuff like "Slowdown", "Bad Boy" or "Long Tall Sally" (I really loved the comp ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC VOL. 1)? Seriously though, you also got some cool stuff by Paul Revere and the Raiders and the Kingsmen, and The Young Rascals are pretty cool, I think, at least in their first year's worth of material. I know this sounds like blasphamy but you could do a quick scan of Little Steven's playlists archives for suggestions. You don't have to be a member to look at the playlists, only just to listen to shows. He actually has some GOOD familiar tunes, not just your standard oldie moldies.

I respect & endorse your conditions - gotta have standards. I’m pretty old (55) and still love some of the old stuff (but love the new stuff more to be honest).
Trashmen would be great, followed up with the Cramps would be awesome – hopefully your client is a little bit adventurous. Mixing up the “eras” is always fun. I’d do some old Animals, Kinks & Stones with some good old Sex Pistols, Clash, Ramones & the Zeroes. And Devo’s “Satisfaction” is always good for a bridge to yesteryear. Here are some other bands whose stuff is still fun to hear – Standells, the Count Five, the Sonics, Nashville Teens, Moby Grape (just the rockin’ stuff), Syndicate of Sound, Yardbirds, Them, the Seeds, there’s more I’m sure but my old memory is fading fast . . .
