Meant to thank you on this, Spite! I've downloaded all 16 volumes and talk about a treasure trove of music! Sure there was stuff on there I already had, but there was also quite a bit I had always wanted, but couldn't find it.

that's a relief. i wonder how long it'll be until people quit coming to the merch booth requesting CD's
Istill stick to my opinion that they aren't going anywhere. cd's still out sell our vinyl 4 to 1. We've sold about 3000 records this year compared to around 12,000 cds in 2011, mp3's are kind of stagnant. Punk rock just doesn't sell very well via digital services.

fuck that shit. nobody should ever pay money to get into a show at SX. there are plenty of free parties/shows going on, just as good if not better bands playing. Also a lot of them are promotional which means free beer, tacos, what have you. from my experience the best plan is not to have a plan.
that's my two cents

So I checked out the website (Never attended a music festival of any sort). Lineup looks pretty fun, I've seen a handful of them on little west coast tours.
But 675 for a Music Badge?
and Hotel Rooms at 150+ a night?
We're talking at least 1500 (including travel, food, drinks, etc.) I don't know about you guys, but I'm dirt poor working class. I can't afford that shit.
Does anyone know of a cheaper way to do this?

Also "Gaz's Rockin' Blues" on ACE is a great comp. Gaz does Rockin' R'n'B nights in London. I only recently learned that he's John Mayall's son.

And I loved these guys in the 80's, but I kind-of forgot about them during my anger fueled punk days.
I came across this after listening to the Von Zippers on youtube...
Should be soon! Peter Aaron of the Chrome Cranks is a member here... maybe we can get him to chime in. Here's the previous discussion on the topic:

Someone gave me a tape with Suicidal Tendencies on one side and The Exploited on the other. It was all downhill from there. I realized it was ok to be pissed off at what was going on around my. I liked a lot of the hardcore stuff too (Cro-Mags, Agnostic Front...), but there was a lot of directionless violence and the straight-edge thing was crazy in Florida (late 80's). The Damned, Motorhead, and The Cramps were and still are my favorite bands and that led me to explore the more rock-n-roll side of punk. Those were good days and I miss going nuts in the pit and I miss all of the raw energy.
