    • Yes I can edit my topics now. Thank you very much !

But there's a strange thing when I try to add a big contact player... It does appear in the edit section when I try to "pre-visualize" it (by clicking on the "eye" icon) but it doesn't appear anymore when I post the edited topic...

      Any idea ?

    • Yes, I did, which is why I asked if they could do it now, since those two are both podcasters... so they *should* be able to edit the topics that they create.

    • I believe you changed the forum editing functionality was changed to only select members that upgraded their account. You might want to check the Podcaster member settings to see if they have the ability to.

    • Ugh! What happened?

    • January 31, 2014 1:10 PM CST
    • Just noticed that.
You have to click on the What's Shakin'? tab to see posts and activity.
It'd certainly be better the way it was before.

    • Not sure what happened, but I just noticed that when you visit a member profile on here now, nothing shows up in the default profile view, whereas in the past it used to display all the comments and activity for that member. See attached screenshot of how mine looks, for example.

I think we just need to fix this so that it displays the activity feed instead, right?

    • Understandable...but also kind of a bummer that the Hideout vets get left out in the cold when it comes to doing band searches using the new site's member search engine. Guessing the same applies to older label/distro profiles..... oh well....

    • January 31, 2014 12:39 PM CST
    • Since you joined the Hideout prior to our migration to Social Engine, I don't believe there is any way to convert your profile to a band one. I think this only is an option for people who actually sign up for the first time using Social Engine.

I can send a support request to our new SE hosts to see if they can change these, but there are a LOT of band accounts similar to yours that were carried over from Ning, and I'm sure there's no easy way for them to convert all of them...

    • Hey,

I noticed that my band profile's Member Type shows as Regular Member; it should be Band. Is there a way to fix this? I thought when I set the profile up way prior to the switch-over from NING, that it was Band, but I can't remember. I've noticed a few other Band profiles that show as Regular Member too. Not a big deal, but it does leave bands set as Regular out of searches when people are searching for Bands using the Search tool.

Any one know how to change the Member Type of a profile from Regular to Band?

      Thanks,

      Pete (Kermit's Finger)

    • Ok. I sent you your account info for this Forum plugin. There is a support area where you can fill out a ticket with screenshots of these reports.

    • Here's another example. I found this topic in Shakin' Street:

      http://garagepunk.com/forums/topic/4510/voix-de-garage-paris-garage-pun

If you search Shakin' Street for "Australie" (a misspelling of Australia) that's in that thread, you won't find it. But if you search for "voix," you will.

A search should turn up ALL results, not just those that happen to be in the subject or title of the thread...

    • Yes, I'm sure. I used the Search box in the forum, after I had located a topic with a word in that forum that I could search for (in this case, "Seclusions"). And then I used the main network Search, like I said. Try it yourself. Go through the old posts in any one of our forums (the posts that were imported from Ning), find a unique word, then go back out and search for it. Trust me, you won't be able to find it.

    • January 30, 2014 8:23 PM CST
    • Are you sure you searched in the correct place? One time you told me about this and so I Googled the specific topic in mind ("Garagepunk.com: Example Topic Keyword") and it in fact was not in Shakin Street or whatever you thought it was in.

    • I believe the Forum needs to be re-indexed or something. I'm still having this same issue. I found an old topic from the old Ning site that had a band name in it (The Seclusions) and I tried searching, first, within Shakin' Street. Nothing. Next, I tried using the main network search. Again, nothing.

This really needs to be fixed.

    • I don't care. The chat is enabled for people that upgraded membership. That can be changed in the member level settings.

    • January 29, 2014 4:27 PM CST
    • Since we're now using a speedier host, I'm wondering if we should go ahead and test out (launch) the chat feature. What d'ya think?

    • I will send you the YouNet information.

      Reply from HostISO:

Please try to upgrade module, this is bug in module, it even show 2 time upload fields.

If upgrade do not solve problem please contact younet support and report problem.

Apparently the "2 time upload fields" aren't showing up now...

    • According to our host, this is related to the forum plugin (attn: Sarah):

Hi, this is related to forum module, if you do not experience this with other modules or other part of sites, then there is problem with forum module, most likely it recognizing cookies and logout you. Please verify with developer about this from our side we can not do to much, because problem is most likely directly in code.

    • Happening to me again - not every time but quite frequently.
It seemed to have been fixed (even with IE 10).
Since then I switched to Firefox (for other reasons) and everything was fine but it seems to have started again after the change of the site's server.

    • January 29, 2014 4:24 PM CST
    • All right, this just happened to me today, using Chrome. It's weird. I'll be on my home page, logged in, then I'll hit Forums or something and suddenly it's asking me to login. Yet if I then hit my GaragePunk.com bookmark in my browser bar, it'll open up and I'm still logged in. It seems like a cookies issue... Anyone else noticing this problem?

    • January 29, 2014 4:43 PM CST
    • I believe this issue has been resolved. However, if you are having problems signing in and are either not receiving verification emails, password change request emails, or anything else, please let us know. Send an email to hideout@garagpunk.com with all the details. Thanks.

    • The Band/Artist Profile Type no longer asks for a gender. I don't believe that was an option back in September, which is probably why you encountered it.

Sorry, just trying to catch up on all of these support requests...

How do I put a player on my profile page?

Go to Music from the menu on the left, then click on "Upload Music." Once you have created your playlist, click on "My Music" and click the link next to the musical note that says "Play on my Profile." This will add that playlist player to your profile. You can see it when you click the "My Profile" link from the top and going to view your page.

      Hope this helps!
