What makes this episode extra special may not be the fact that it’s a whopping 90 minutes long or that it happens to be our one-year anniversary on GaragePunk.com, but that we are joined by guest hosts Brother Panti-Christ and El Tiki from the original Sonic Nightmares radio show. In an attempt to bring them back into the fold permanently, The Reverend Beat-Man and co-sponsor, Gringo Starr, have founded a 12-step therapy program - Sonic Nightmares Anonymous®! Listen to the sound of grown men weeping as our two long lost soul mates are granted the serenity to accept the things they cannot change and embrace the evil turntables once again. Free coffee and donuts will be provided along with tracks by The Knee Jerk Reactions, The Crawdaddys, The Wimple Winch, Howlin’ Wolf, Mickey Hampshire, The Madcowgirl Disease and a bonus set of Turkish Psyche-Folk!
The 24th episode of The Desperate Hour is all about the money. Yesirree Bob, the denaro, filthy lucre, simoleans, scratch… or lack thereof. Featuring three different versions of “Money (That’s What I Want)” and other tracks featuring The Outsiders, Nomads, and early vocals from the likes of Sammy Hagar and Alice Cooper. Enjoy! It’s free…
This is the second anniversary of RadiOblivion! Two years of wild sounds and rock ‘n’ roll!! Celebrate continued Better Living Through Discarded Music with Michael Kaiser and very special guest, Jorge “Sectmaniac” from Real Boss Hoss Productions.
And that, friends, pretty well sums up the whole thang. More details inside.
It’s a groovy grab-bag of tough sounds on this eclectic episode of The Mal Thursday Show. Featuring a set of Texas-related material from the likes of Loco Gringos and the Ugly Beats and some vintage ‘66 garage from the Loved Ones, the Underdogs, and Positively 13 O’Clock.
Getting a little ahead of myself, here’s episode #63 of Savage Kick. You may notice that I skipped episode #62. Not to worry… I’ll try to have that one for you next time. Rest assured, it’ll be worth the wait. I hope. Anyway, on THIS thrilling episode, another unrelenting dose of hard-hitting, lowdown and dirty rock’n'roll is offered up with a backhanded slap of reality that there really is some killer music being created all over the world, including places like Montreal and Kansas City! So grab the proverbial giggle juice and prepare to get punked by such modern bands as The Drones, Thee Oh Sees, Box Elders, CPC Gangbangs, Red Mass, the Daylight Lovers, Wrong Crowd, Thee Fleshapoids, Modie Bones, Fag Cop, Left Arm, and such classics as the Mummies, the Illusions, the Mono Men, the Devil Dogs, the Downliners Sect and lots more. Dig.
On this go ’round of Rock’n’ Roll Suicide, we snub the new wax and dip into stuff the Armitage Shanks done covered. Only fitting since I’ve been spinnin’ a whole lotta Shanks lately… dig it.
This edition of Florida Rocks Again! is made up of songs that have never been heard on any of the previous thirty episodes of the series on the GaragePunk.com Podcast. Among these tasty leftovers are some grade A, top-quality garage, soul, and rhythm & blues nuggets for your listening and dancing pleasure, from the likes of King Coleman, the Shaggs, Benny Spellman, We the People, White Witch, and many more.
Produced by JM Dobies and Jeff Lemlich in Living Monophonic Sound.
Anyway, no politics for a few more years, I promise. This time around I play a bunch of 10″s, Oblivians, Teengenerate, Nomads, Clone Defects and a bunch of other garbage for your ears, so crack open a cold one and enjoy, it’s the weekend!!!
Join the Saucer Cult and dig the sounds from way, way out with another hour of Flying Saucer Rock ‘n’ Roll! Transmission #57 features King Salami & the Cumberland 3, Babelatando, The Adventures of Parsley, Thee 50’s Highteens, Cool Jerks and a whole lot more. LET’S GET ZOOED OUT!
I was making this podcast while the news came in so I cut it short to celebrate. So this episode is just shameless, self-promotion for my new record label, Killer Diller Records. My first release is a 7″ with ten bands all doing songs about jenkem. It’s called WILD ABOUT JENKEM! You can find out more information here.
If you thought party-boy time was reserved for the weekends, then you should know by now that it’s not, because Killed By Porn #46 is here to grind its most intimate of areas all over your ignorant ass. It’s one more thing to identify with as you shower yourself off in a cheap motel after a scandalous night. Another president to keep you guilt free when shame tries to run you rampant; A reminder to you that there is always someone more filthy than you out there somewhere; and that no matter what crazy shit you like to do, Killed By Porn is the soundtrack for your wicked-sick life.
Enjoy 83 Minutes of Sonically Nightmarish tales of dead surfers, ghosts on the highway, walks through the graveyard, phantoms, vampires and spoken word by the stinking corpse of Boris Karloff. Boo!
I loaded up the Haunted Jukebox with a bunch of FX LPs, DVDs, and soundtrack records… I just set back and let the spirits do their work! If you’re decorating your place up like Martha Stewart, having kids at your doorstep or just want to get into a spooky mood for Hallowe’en then this is what you ought to be listening to.
This is RadiOblivion eppy-sode 28. I play some songs; cool ones. This is also the second annual No Halloween Themed Show. There are enough shows doing Halloween spooktaculars - probably a whole lot better than I can. We leave that to the pros; this is amateur hour on RadiOblivion!
Loaded with Heavy Metal hits by sech shredders as: The Moongooners, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Micky & The Salty Sea Dogs, The 1-4-5s, Ken & The 4th Dimension, Teengenerate, The Crucibles, Nashville Teens and poolenty more. *cough*
It’s been a few months since he last hosted an episode, but Rob is back to share some major tunes! As usual, he’s back with twenty-three cuts of the soul variety. Blues-driven stompers, menacing R&B and full-blown, house-rockin’ soul. Dig the doo-woppy Utopians and the bone-chilling Rogers Collins! You better believe it, baby!
This episode kicks off with a Rudy Ray Moore (RIP) tribute, then features a song for Obama (Barack the vote on November 4!), plus some demented country from Eddie Noack and Porter Wagoner, broken blues courtesy of the Bassholes, as well as selected cuts from the Dirtbombs, Cheater Slicks, Compulsive Gamblers, Apache, King Khan & the Shrines, Yussuf Jerusalem, Pierced Arrows, the Lyres, DMZ, the Sorrows, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and more. Much more. Maybe even TOO much more. But I’ll let you be the judge. It’s well over an hour’s worth of your typical Savage Kick fare, and true, there are some creepy numbers included, for sure, but no real “Halloween Special” this year (sorry, kids!). The real horror will set in later anyway if we let John McCain win this election… SO VOTE!! Need more proof why you shouldn’t vote for that douchebag? Click here. OK, I’m done. Enjoy the show!
The 23rd episode of The Desperate Hour packs and hour and eight minutes’ worth of tunes into 68 minutes (Huh?) Featuring ghoulish tunes by such horrifying acts as The Misfits, Screaming Lord Sutch, The Downliners Sect, Thee Michelle Gun Elephant and what is quite possibly thee creepiest and most appalling tune ever recorded… but you’ll have to listen to the show to find out what that tune would be, kids.
Get yourself down on your knees and pray at the alter that is rock and roll. Fuck you and your “real” Amerika, R. Fink returns to blow this mother apart. Wright/Ayers? I don’t care, this is Rock’n'Roll Suicide. New waxings from the likes of Howie & the Hot Knives, Los Hormones, White Fang, Brothers Gross, Goodnight Loving, Hunx & his Punx, the Baby Shakes, Ty Segall and the Sonic Chicken 4. Associate yourself with these terrorists, motherfuckers!
On this episode Nick digs up some rarely heard live recordings from the ’60s. You’ll hear The Pretty Things in Amsterdam in ‘69 as well as The Twilights and Easybeats from Festival Hall in Melbourne in ‘67. It’s a steep contrast with an audience of stoned hippies to a horde of screaming girls. The burning question in Nick’s mind, though, is would you dig to see future episodes featuring more live stuff? Let him know!
The following podcast is Mr. Thursday’s self-referential variation on episode #4: Songs The Lyres Taught Us, featuring various songs covered by his old bands: The Malarians (1984-1990), The Cheetahs (1991-2001), and The Whores (2000). Mal says, “This episode is bittersweet, in that part of me wishes I was still up there on stage with a mic in my hand. These days, my voice has about three songs in it before I start sounding like Andy Devine… Most of all, I remember how much fun it was to play these songs for people.”
