Very interesting show. It’s wild to think that these heavy sounds were being made in the 60′s.
Could you post the list of compilations and collections you mentioned during one of the breaks?

Back in the 1960s in Los Angeles, local garage bands (the ones in the neighborhood that mostly never made it out of the garage) played a sort of combination of Van Morrison’s “Gloria” with extra verses similar to the Deviants’ lyrics in “I’m Coming Home”. Except they went “She’s walking up my stairs….She makes me feel all right” This was dragged out into many verses – more than the Deviants, even, but with a similar (ahem) climax. I never knew if those guys made up the verses or if they were an underground version of “Gloria” that couldn’t be played on radio. Could be they had heard “I’m Coming Home.”
Many thanks, Lord Muck!
