Host: Miss Snow
Inspired by the fun other podcasters have when they work together, I decided to team up with local hipster, Eric. Coming to you from Eric’s apartment in Tokyo, we will play you the likes of Yuiichi and the Hilltone Boys, The Registrators, Klaus Nomi, You Got a Radio! and other wonderous wonders that will blow you away. Enjoy!
今回のmushi mushi はエリックと一緒にお届けします。前回以上に楽しめること間違いなし!!
前回は全て日本人のバンドでしたが、今回もほぼ日本の最高にクールなバンドを紹介します。

Thoroughly enjoyed the 2nd edition of Mushi Mushi.
Even after repeated listens, could not make out the name of the band that did the opening song (cover of “At the Hop”) Did the song also have a Japanese name?
Any chance of providing the song as a download or a link to where I can get it?:) Totally loved the song, want to enjoy it more!
Keep up the good work!

Sorry for the slow response Bert, I was asking around about the Poppies and nobody knows… the 45 was a bargain bin treasure and there is very little information even in the insert. If you find anything out, let me know!
Thanks for listening.

Another good show. Nice to see you got a radio, I remember this song from when we played with them at Statto this year. Another thoroughly pleasant and friendly Japanese band, they can’t all be nice can they??
Love the Tweezers track.

Yeah, the “chotto matte yo, you gotta radio” is catchy to the point of madness. Now whenever someone tells me “chotto matte”, You Got a Radio pops into my mental jukebox and stays on repeat for hours.

Ha ha, now it’s in my head as well. Nuts.
I always do the same with that big black song. When someone says ‘I’ve got a headache’ I can’t help saying ‘ (a) Like a pillow’.
