I didn't pay any attention to Ron Paul because I knew he wasn't going anywhere. By "republican dog catchers", I meant that Republicans were successful in down ballot races as well. Obama will have to work with moderates and conservatives if he wants to avoid an electoral debacle in 2010 - the year of Congressional mid terms. Clinton did, in fact, serve two terms - the last six of which were governed on Republican terms.
