Well,I remember a great gig of the Lyres in Berlin at the end of the 80`ies,probably the most drunken singer, keyb.player, tambourine breaker, ever!Screaming like my little sisters baby, don`t know if Jeff can remember being there-but who cares,I was there,Poison- Kiki was along,I was soooo young and in love.It was a great place to go,in a time before what we call"grunch"or what ever...Conolly got better and better, song after song. The Lyres were maybe my favourites then, besides all the other" 60`-revivals" of that tyme, that gave us the summer of love around 1986( or so)here in Berlin!!! Among at the time were the Miracle Workers, theFuzztones,Tell Tale Hearts, local favourites like Dizzy Satelites(Rob.rememberHörny?)TheDaisy Chain,What 4and all the countless beauties raving!Where did our love go?

Thanks for tuning in to the garagepunk podcast.

"Coverama, pt. 2" will have some great stuff on it as well, with rare and previously unheard cuts by some great Florida bands and, of course, more Beatles, Stones, and Yardbirds covers. Other upcoming episodes include "Moody Florida," "Love, pts. 1 & 2," "Orlando," and "South Florida Punk."

Too bad I didn't learn to appretiate Florida's musical history until after I moved away from it. All the shows are good, but I am always a sucker for a good cover.

Mal: This is one of the best episodes yet. Of Course, I'm partial to episode #10, being from Miami and all.
