All About You!
This installment of Florida Rocks Again! features songs with the word “You” in the title. In addition to the usual assortment of mid-’60s garage bands, this episode also contains a set of smokin’ southern soul, and, in honor of Bike Week (March 3-12 in Daytona Beach), a set of early ’70s hard rock and boogie. Starring Conlon & the Crawlers, the Montells, BOOT — the later, “heavier” incarnation of the Split Ends (“Rich With Nothing”), and many more. Produced by MalThursday and JeffMiami in Living Mono. Special thanks to BossHoss for the Crawlers and Canadian Rogues tracks. Hope you all dig it!

The Devil Dogs – January 11, 1992 at Maxwells, Hoboken, NJ
The opening band that night was The Friggs (a killer all-female outfit based near Philly that reached the height of their powers over the next couple years), just barely formed at the time. The other act was The Voodoo Dolls out of Boston. (Their set will be available separately.)
These three bands played together in various combinations in the early ’90s, although it’d usually only be two of the three.
Anyway, this show happened not long after Mighty Joe Vincent took over
on drums.
Show presented for podcast by Blair B. For more info on The Devil Dogs, visit Tim Lakritz’s excellent Devil Dogs fansite.

Improved technology grants Central Computer access to the vinyl vaults, and the result is the cruelest sound selection yet. Sick cuts from Singapore, Australia, Mexico, Yugoslavia and Italy, multi-generational gyrations from Japan, and even a couple of back-breakers from the UK and US. Get on board or get out.

Host: Clif
Rock ‘n’ Roll is meant to be experienced live. The sweat, the blood, the beer, and the noise. The noise is everything. All problems seem to drop off the face of the earth except the stage and those on it. The noise can be cleansing. Emotional purging, or reckless endangerment? It doesn’t matter. It’s the moment. Being completely involved in the moment can change everything. The moment can, and should, be documented. This show will spotlight some of my favorite moments in rock ‘n’ roll. Moments never to be forgotten. Moments in time, in place, in noise. Rock ‘n’ Roll is meant to be experienced live, so give it a listen.
This episode: Hue Blanc’s Joyless Ones live at Valhalla in Milwaukee, Feb. 11th, 2006.

Florida Freak Out!
Host Mal Thursday takes you on an hour-long trip to the psychedelic side of the Sunshine State, as a series of ’60s garage combos turn up their fuzz-boxes and wax poetic about blowing their sun-bleached minds. This episode includes such long-lost classics as We The People’s “When I Arrive,” the Kollektion’s “Savage Lost” (Florida Rocks Again! co-producer Jeff Lemlich named his essential book about Florida garage bands after this regional hit), and the Birdwatchers’ “Mary, Mary (It’s to You That I Belong),” described by lead singer Sammy Hall in his autobiography Hooked on a Good Thing as “a love song to marijuana.”

Host: Mal Thursday
The GaragePunk.com Forums are arguably the best place on the Web for fans of garagepunk trash rockabilly powerpop slop to come together and discuss the music we all dig so much. It’s where fan meets musician meets collector meets writer meets DJ meets photographer. In short, a pretty cool place. Carpet Donkey‘s combo recorded a cover of Tonto and The Renegades “Little Boy Blue” which sparked the idea to compile a comp of forum members, either as bands or individuals, covering cool ’60s Garage/Beat/Rock’n'Roll tunes. JPRackets urged people to contribute songs and the response was incredible. Songs started coming in from all over the world. Established bands and first-timers alike joined in. Other forum members designed a cover, mastered and sequenced the disc and it was copied and distributed to forum members by other forum members. All for free. For more info, or to comment on the music, click here. Now, thanks to MalThursday of Florida Rocks Again, it’s been converted to a podcast. Dig in, and dig it.
